Random question:

If M-Den is the official merchandise retailer of Michigan Athletics, can the Athletic Department ask them not to carry the book?  (likewise with say, 3 and Out, which doesn't paint them in a flattering light).

I would have thought that the AD would be able to approve what is sold at their official outlet store.

I got my copy in the mail on Friday from Barnes and Noble -- don't know why .  In any event, I'm about 375 pages into the book -- I was so engrossed I missed Arrieta's no-hitter last night (and I write about baseball).

A couple of notes that I haven't seen elsewhere (although I could have missed them):

-- All the stuff about Brady Hoke taking the job without knowing how much he would be paid was pretty much staged by Brandon who wanted to replicate some Bo quotes. Also because it was handled that way, Hoke's agent was able to get hundreds of thousands more, since Brandon pretty much had to give Hoke what he wanted at that point.

-- One of Hoke's first questions to Brandon after accepting the job was about Tate Forcier's situation. He wanted to use Forcier at QB and move Denard off the position. Doesn't that pretty much tell you why the offense deteriorated.

-- You will have an even better appreciation of Devin Gardner after reading this book and seeing how poorly he was treated by Hoke/Borges and to some extent Nussmeier.

Lots of great stuff (although there is some repetition and a number of typos I would have expected to have been cleaned up by the editiors).

I got it today. I've been decently busy but I'm about 80 pages in, and just had my first (of what I assume will be many) blood boiling moments. Bill Martin had locked in an agreement with Swarbrick to continue the UM/ND game for TWENTY FIVE YEARS right before he left, but Brandon didn't see the meaning in that game and was insistent on letting the series go. Nobody stood up to him so it ended. And they're the chicken littles... fuck him.
