Indy Pete - Go Blue

This blog has had some amazing stuff for many years. Brian’s genius is still a heartbeat for this place. Adding Seth’s remarkable talent and work ethic along with several other gifted contributors keeps this place at the top of the browser of so many Michigan fans. (And more than a few desperate sparty and bucky trolls)

I often wonder what it would be like to be a fan of a college football team that does not have an MGoBlog equivalent (so, like… everyone else but us). Sometimes I think we take for granted how incredibly talented and detail-oriented the staff here is. Things like UFR and Opponent Watch and FFFF (and of course, Eleven Swans) are simply unrivaled anywhere else on the sports blogosphere.

A couple of years ago, I was talking to my now 93 year old neighbor and found out he was on the 1950 Michigan team that played in the infamous Snow Bowl.

I talked with him about his career- apparently he didn’t play much, but he said something that stuck with me when I asked him about Michigan-OSU: “In my mind, when Michigan takes the field even today,  I feel like I have one good play left in me. Every year, this game makes me feel like a kid again.”

Every player that came before you is rooting for you. Every fan is waiting with anticipation.

We will play.

We will fight.

We WILL win.

Go Blue!

The reason I'm a fan of this blog is not really the in-depth analysis. It's fun sometimes and I'm not saying it's bad, but meh, they're not calling me to coach I hope.

The reason is almost exclusively because Brian is a truly excellent writer.

Absolutely beautiful. Brian is just an excellent writer. That all reads true today in 2022 just as it did in 2006. The only differences: the good guys won in the preceding year and they will win in the game that’s being previewed.
