I disagree. Those threads are a waste because you have to sift through 100+ comments.

individual threads for each tidbit are fine. If you aren’t interested, don’t click. For those of us jonesing for just about any info, regardless of how little value, the individual threads are enjoyable.

Also, we are in the depth of the offseason. What are the individual threads pushing off the first page: discussions about Game of Thrones and talking cars Tuesday?

I think most would agree Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Few, Bennett, and Beard would be homerun hires. However, Marshall would be a great hire. Think he’s right behind those guys. He has done well at Wichita St. this would be a solid hire. Personally think the above homerun guys, Donovan only realistic shot. Thus, Marshall is 2nd best option in my opinion.

Before yesterday, finding a new coach was "The Last Thing on My Mind" but now I think that "If Teardrops Were Pennies" we could come up with enough money to land Stevens or Wright or Donovan.  Now we're just "Making Plans" to come to terms with "The Cold Hard Facts of Life" since John Beilein is "Just Someone [we] Used to Know"

I would love if this is accurate, but so much of it seems like the wishful thinking a program has in terms of its own prestige that would assume we'd get a (admittedly under-fire) NBA coach to so quickly change course. I truly think we're a desirable destination, but hopefully this isn't a case of Maize-colored glasses. It will be interesting to see what Donovan's first responses to the inevitable questions about the availability are.

I’m not saying that it won’t happen, but the fact that everyone is saying it doesn’t mean much. It’s the classic echo chamber effect - there is literally no actual news out there, so when one or two people speculate Donovan, everyone starts repeating it and it takes on a life of its own. Doesn’t make it any more real just because everyone is repeating the same rumor.

HOWARD is running first at +300

Donovan is next at +350

MOSER isn't even on the board !!!!!!

I'm tempted to put $100 down on Mike White, figuring this is who Warde is coveting, at +500

why is Shaka Smart on there? Sigh. His system is horribly flawed and he's basically a .500 coach at Texas and missed the tournament 2 of 4 years there. Seems like a guy with a system that worked well on the Atlantic 10 and a couple of unprepared or mismatched tournament teams and since then he's been downloaded and anyone with a brain and competent ball-handlers can out coach him. Beilein smoked him both times they played in the tournament. this would be a terrible hire.

I gotta be honest, at 10 to 1 for the 3 Beilein coaching tree candidates, that's a solid play.  Might be worth laying some down for that...especially if the interim tag counts.

It will be LaVall Jordan and they will keep the current coaches.  Culturally it makes the most sense.  My secret wish is Jay Wright but that will never happen:(.

I would be happy with Greg Marshall.  I believe he's the only coach to ever go 35-0, back in 2013-2014.  Yeah, they lost their next game to Kentucky by 2 points, but we're talking about Wichita State here.

With Wichita State he won an NIT and then got them into the top 25 on a regular basis, even getting into the top 10 a few times.   He's won 6 conference championships, albeit in a pretty weak conference.   He's also put 6 guys into the NBA.

If he is doing this straight, he seems to fit the bill.  Has won consistently with a mid-major team and was strongly competitive against the blue-bloods.  Knows how to develop players.  We could do a hell of a lot worse.

What in the actual.... Pitino. How is this possible he is on the list and near the top? They wouldn't would they?
