Down goes Sparty

Tuck breaking out the Hoke clap as Michael Penix Jr carves up the secondary for nearly 400 yards. Bask in the Sparty schadenfreude.

They can't seem to run the ball against a team that has a pulse. Also I thought Windmon, was a cross  between Suh and Lawrence Taylor... yet he and the rest of the D-Line provided Zero pass rush. Tuck...phtttttttt.

I really hate Tucker’s philosophy in terms of the portal. For rivalry sake, it’s good having guys who have been there for a while that you learn to hate and want to beat even more (i.e. Panasiuk brothers). It’s not the same when you play a team of one year rental players year in and year out

Lots of good spartan fan gifs that game. Just dumbfounded looks.

Anyone see the UM gear when they were showing the LARPers? He was having a good day.

They had a bunch circus catches and still loss by 11. Also, Washington did a crappy job on contain in the 2nd half. Still, chop chop your way to 6-6 Melbo

Was at the game. Washington hit harder and basically punched Sparty in the mouth.

I think the Huskies Coach DeBeors should have rings made to celebrate beating MSU. Talk to Mel.

Don't know if they showed it on TV, but the Funniest damn thing: 5 students without shirts on had P E N I X painted on their chests. When the stadium camera zoomed in and framed the five of them up on the jumbotron, the end guy with the "X" spun around and had a "S" on his back.

Tucker is one of those guys whose face I enjoy watching as he's losing a game. Not as much as I enjoy seeing a defeated Day or Urban, but it's pretty close.

Edit: I also kinda miss watching Mork's grumpy face when he was getting crushed.

Tucker is in over his head without a generational RB. Though I do think they’ll end up upsetting a better team in conference play at some point. You know, like Indiana or Rutgers.

I actually didn't expect MSU to win this game.  Surprised at how well UW played, esp coming off such a poor year.  Got ahead and the emotion just overswept that whole team.  Took MSU to long settle down, if they ever did.  It was pretty much safe defense and desperation time before Sparty got moving.  UW really put it in neutral the last quarter and a half.  Left 11 points at the goal line by being stubborn.

Lots of warning signs for MSU, but I sure saw some good things from their TE, QB and WR.  Coleman is a beast, Tuck will feed him all day against us.

They really need to beat Minnesota next week, who is also facing a big measuring stick type game with Sparty.  A loss to Minne just about guarantees they have 2 conference losses before even setting foot in Ann Arbor because that bunch is not beating Ohio State in a couple weeks.

We all know they spent half of last week preparing for Michigan anyway, and they'll play remarkably perfect, competent football in Ann Arbor.

Msu is mediocre and this year's M beats them by 20+ points. I'm saying it. I will continue to say it. Revisit this post with glee as our squad beats them by 4 scores.

Sure this is said every year, but it won't matter. M is taking their lunch money, giving it back, and then taking it away again just for fun.

Absolutely need to crush these guys this year. Or even if you beat them By one then fine, but losing to them just isn’t an option.

Harbaugh can’t afford to go 0-3 against Tucker.

Always good to see Sparty lose. Their pass defense remains a big weakness. On offense, Sparty loves the hurry-up tactic so our guys will need to emphasize that in prepping for the game on Oct 29th.

Nine point five million dollars to hand the ball off only for nobody to be home! Play of the game!!!

This was a coaching clinic put on by DeBoer. About ten coaches in the Big Ten watched that and are wondering where the hell their raise is it. No o-line, no secondary, and terrible play calling. Washington exploited that dumpster fire of a secondary while sparty beat their heads into a brick wall for three quarters. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and other times you get a hunk of junk decorated with some shinies.

Of course, there will be all kinds of excuses for this one. I'm sure Reed would have helped a lot on defense because in this one. What else? Was it too hot out there? Did that cute little husky puppy pee in their Gatorade? Mad that the refs didn't come to their rescue?

Watching that game, I came away impressed with Sparty actually.  There run defense is solid. There qb is tough also, hes mobile. As a matchup with us its those two things that will give us trouble. We couldnt really run up middle last year too.

MSU has a good run D but UW also got consistent yardage throughout the first half. It was when UW went conservative that MSU started to slow down the rushing attack. It also helped that UW made some absolutely moronic playcalls at the goal line and during their 4th quarter fart-around.

Attack MSU on the edges and they won't have an answer.

UW lost a couple of DBs to the top few rounds of the draft. That showed last night once Sparty decided to throw 90% of the time. Not sure if Penix got hurt and then UW slowed down the offense or if UW went clock mode before that. Still frustrating that MSU made so many 4th downs - I suspect our secondary will cover better - key will be to keep Thorne from getting outside of contain.
