Down goes Baylor

Absolutely zero chance we aren't bumped up to #2 now.

To a deluxe apartment in the sky??

#2. We're Avis. We try harder.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:13 PM ^
Baylor is a great team - they’re just no Michigan
February 27th, 2021 at 10:14 PM ^
Them = great
M = Elite.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:26 PM ^
I’d say the same about Gonzaga.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
We're all Loyola Marymount fans tonight!
February 27th, 2021 at 10:13 PM ^
20 seconds early, but I'll allow it!
Happy #2 in the nation!
February 27th, 2021 at 10:15 PM ^
They made 1,000 excuses for Baylor's COVID break. Michigan managed through the same thing quite well.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:48 PM ^
Jay Bilas just went crying into the night...
February 27th, 2021 at 10:50 PM ^
At least his dukeees almost pulled it out in OT... oooof!
February 27th, 2021 at 11:47 PM ^
To be fair, their COVID-19 pause was because many of their players actually had COVID-19. Nobody on our team actually had COVID-19. You have to imagine that would have some physical impact.
February 28th, 2021 at 3:36 AM ^
I really want to know HOW they pulled this off. No practice or even team workouts for 2+ weeks and they pick it up and keep winning almost like it was nothing. That is nuts. That alone should put Howard in contention for coach of the year.
February 28th, 2021 at 10:33 AM ^
I think that's pretty much locked up at this point. Michigan was picked anywhere from 6th - 8th in the B1G, not to mention they weren't even considered a top 25 team before the season began. He was replacing his starting center and PG, and this was just his second season as a HC.
February 28th, 2021 at 11:00 AM ^
It was pretty obvious that they were rusty against Wisconsin. I could be wrong but I'd venture a guess that they studied a lot of film and did individual workouts to stay "fresh."
February 28th, 2021 at 7:32 AM ^
I said this after the osu game. If Michigan didn't have a 20 day layoff, they beat osu by double digits
February 28th, 2021 at 7:41 AM ^
I think that single digit game was more an act of generous +1's, 1&1 oppo's, and no-calls given to OSU. Take away a few key calls on Michigan, add them to OSU, and that's a 17 point game in Michigan's favor. It was pretty tight the whole way, but only with those items going all in OSU's favor.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:15 PM ^
Now do Gonzaga!
February 27th, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
I agree but just not tonight, I have Gonzaga -25 in my bet. But, now that I've made my bet it is all but certain they will win by 6 or lose outright.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:37 PM ^
I do as well...and so far, ugh.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:16 PM ^
What do you mean, No. 2? Gonzaga is losing to Loyola Marymount right now. Let's end the night No. 1!
February 27th, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
Loyola Marymount's team looks like they pulled a bunch of random dudes off the street
February 27th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
Definitely a far cry from the Gathers/ Kimble days
February 28th, 2021 at 8:00 AM ^
I was just reminded of one of Michigan's most embarrassing losses ever (that 1990 tourney game).
February 28th, 2021 at 11:16 AM ^
I don’t think that was necessarily an embarrassing loss. That LMU team absolutely caught fire. They were 21-40 from 3 in that game and had an eFG% of 67%. Plus they were 30-36 from the FT line. Sometimes the other team just shoots well and you lose. Although our 27 turnovers didn’t help, you have to look at in in a context of a game with about twice as many possessions as a normal game in 2020.
If you want an embarrassing loss, look at the 1989 championship team losing to Alaska-Anchorage. Although maybe that was Glen Rice’s “thank you” to a certain sportscaster from Wasilla. Allegedly.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
It's awesome. I didn't know Kenny Powers had eligibility left.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:42 PM ^
This linebacker with a mullet is legitimately ill.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:38 PM ^
Gonzaga is favored by 25. So if they win by 10, at their home court no less, they are still number 1? If so, that is BS. And the way it's going now they will not cover.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:43 PM ^
Teams don't drop in the polls because they don't "cover".
February 28th, 2021 at 5:58 AM ^
Point spread doesn’t impact rankings, you realize that right? Please say yes
February 27th, 2021 at 10:47 PM ^
Zags getting some really soft calls
February 27th, 2021 at 10:17 PM ^
Let’s GOOOOO
February 27th, 2021 at 11:14 PM ^
Can he do the floss?
February 27th, 2021 at 11:21 PM ^
I mean, his is kinda doing the floss
February 28th, 2021 at 8:25 AM ^
He's Vladmir fucking Putin. When he does the floss, he will be hailed as having done the best floss the world has ever seen. Any Russian that doesn't immediately agree will get Navalny'd...

Yessssss!!

UNK --> 2

THE DEUCE
February 27th, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
Now if Gonzaga played somebody!!
February 27th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
They will eventually - and that team will probably be Michigan. It will be fun.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
Barring some loss, they aren't going to play Michigan until the National Championship game. The single location means geography won't play a factor in bracketing. I'd bet they never meet.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:47 PM ^
The odds of Michigan and Gonzaga meeting in the tournament are not all that great. The title game has only been 1-seed vs 1-seed 7 times since they went to 64 teams.
February 27th, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
If Michigan doesn't move up now, i think its a joke. An undefeated Baylor in the Big12, I can understand being below them as Michigan had 1 loss. Now, I think its pretty clear.
Baylor doesn't have an easy schedule to close either with games versus WVU on the road and closing with OkSt and Texas Tech... keep playing like they have the last two game, and I could easily see another loss or two
February 27th, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
A Covid break is kryptonite for Baylor, but rocket fuel for Michigan
February 27th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
Only two entities in college basketball this year are undefeated: Gonzaga and Eli Brooks
February 27th, 2021 at 10:24 PM ^
we're all LMU fans tonight. i forgive them for 1989.
