Does Deboer stay at Washington? Could he get some NFL looks?

One thing that worried me about Washington going into last night's game was I think their head coach is one of the best at in game coaching. Last night doesn't really change my opinion on that, he is still a top level coach imo. Washington is a fine program but is it a final destination job in college? Do you think the NFL might take a look? If Jim leaves does Michigan take a hard look at him??

I think he would be on my short list if I had an opening for a head coach in college or the NFL.

He looked like he still has much to learn last night but what a great coach with a bright future.

He doesn’t seem like the type to let his new found fame go to his head.

He will have offers and he may not stay at UW forever but he seems like the type to stay and build.

I am far less sold on Deboer than apparently a lot of other people in this board are.  His defenses have been, frankly, bad.  I'd like to see what he does without a 33 year old, 20th year senior first round pick at QB first.

Only way you don't give the job to Moore is if Harbaugh leaves and takes everyone with him. Then and only then would I say go get that guy. He's a proven winner

I think the NFL should look at Deboer.....and Day, Smart, etc. There are other college football coaches out there besides Harbugh, younger also.

Agree with most...if Jim does leave there is no need to rush to anoint him next head coach.  Nothing wrong with a "quality" national search and if they deem him the best candidate let the chips fall where they may.

If Harbaugh actually leaves, I think you send several Brinks trucks to DeBoer's driveway.  If he turns them away (as I suspect he would), Sherrone should be the next conversation.

It is hard to describe just how broken the UW program was under Jimmy Lake.  I expected the DeBoer hire to right the ship, but nowhere near as quickly as year 1, and few expected he would have the Huskies at this year's ceiling in year 2.

He's a midwest guy, and an expert culture builder.  He'd be a home run hire.
