Did anyone else hear Braylon Edwards yesterday
I guess Braylon will be doing a weekly guest appearance on the Mike Valente show every Thursday at 5:00pm on 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit, and yesterday he was on fire with the wildest "takes" Just a few that I heard, and feel free to add if you heard him.
1. He is obviously red assed about KeKoa Crawford wering the #1. Said it's "Jim's thing" and he feels that a player should have to earn it, the way Carr made him earn it.
2. No defensive player should ever wear that number.(#1)
3. Brandon Peters should be starting: Anyone that saw the spring game, and some fall practice knows that Peters is the best QB on the team.
4. Rashan Gary needs to get in shape: He takes plays off and doesn't spend maximum effort on every play
5. Jim needs to utilize the TE's more to open things up for the WR's: They need to incorporate more crossing routes for the TE's.
6. Wilton Speight is what he is: "The so called QB guru" thinks he can make Speight into something he isn't capable of being.
Those are just a few I can remeber off of the top of my head. I've never really been a big Braylon fan, from the time he tried to Hi Jack the #1 for his own selfish purposes, to some of his comments during the RR era, but this is on another level.

Did Terrell always wear 1? I was under the impression that the "tradition" was a Carr era invention

So says the person who was insisting, to the very end, that Hoke was the guy to lead Michigan to prosperity ...
Sure, we'll trust your judgment.

Podcast is embeded. I'm not portraying anything. I didn't add anything for dramatic effect. Maybe it's skewed by my personal dislike of Braylon, but those were his words.

These are some hot ass takes.

somewittyname wasn't exactly wrong, you know? Ulizio did not play well. She was pretty much on point, that Ulizio starting means the right side of the line is a problem. Which was pretty much borne out by us running left handed all game.
But nobody will own up to being fucking douchebags to her, and using that whole thing as a "cool" reference for cheap upvotes. Cool.

No, I don't. Though I do bash him fairly often.
But if you can't see the difference between that, and what this board did to somewittyname, I don't know what to tell you. It was bullshit, and remains bullshit, and I'll keep saying that. WD brings it on himself, and even he knows that, and has taken to just plain trolling lately. Not even in the same ballpark, dude.

I don't really think she brought it on herself though. I thought she defended her viewpoint with fairly astute arguments, but the homer faction around here turned on her right away (think it was a Friday or Saturday night, iirc). I think the group think on this board has gotten out of control over the past couple years, which I just don't like. The board goaded her into meltdown (don't like that word in this context, but whatever) status. Just bothers me.

It wasn't about being wrong...it was about the delivery. Just like Braylon. He's entitled to his opinion...but read those quotes in the OP and get off my ass about it.
Thanks.
P.S. - Take a brief moment and actually read what I posted. I said "for me to take you seriously." That's it. Because of somewittyname's delivery I didn't take her seriously...and because Braylon said what he said how he said it, sorry, I can't take him seriously either. Doesn't mean he's not entitled to an opinion, I'm not entitled to give a shit about it either.

on this board? That's one of the dumbest takes I've read lately, especially from a former player.

He's right about #5 . . . and that's about it.
September 8th, 2017 at 7:59 AM ^
Because I thought he utilized the TE's pretty well. They completed 12 passes, and 5 for those were to the TE's.

But that changed right away after halftime.

OK, maybe it would be interesting, but I wouldn't want to see it happen.

The original #1, and the only one who should be talking about it, is Anthony Carter.
September 8th, 2017 at 9:46 AM ^
And he doesn't talk about it, which actually says a great deal.

How so? How old are you? I'm old enough to have seen both play in person and to my eyes, AC was the better WR.

His speed and his quickness are his major assets, more than offsetting a lack of size. He consistently runs the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds.
That gets 0 fakes out of 5. He was blazingly (if that's a word) fast and hard to tackle because he was such a small target for defenders. 160 pounds of lightning in a bottle.
In case there is any doubt, these two videos should convince you:

Hey, at least Crawford honored the Braylon #1 jersey era with an important drop. He should be pleased about that one.

September 8th, 2017 at 8:34 AM ^
I'll give him benefit of the doubt thinking of it on his own, but Wojo did say this in the cross talk too towards Brandon...
September 8th, 2017 at 9:46 AM ^
was a great receiver but the USC drop on our first drive in 03 is a hard one to forgive. That was 6 and I contend we could have won that game if he hauls that in. He also dropped like a combined 46 passes in our losses to Oregon and Iowa that same year. Great reciever, but he want to talk about taking plays off and not always giving max effort - Braylon is the poster child for such things.
September 8th, 2017 at 9:26 AM ^
Kekoa should be #1 because he has 1 drop. By the same token Michigan should give to and retire #100 for Braylon!
September 8th, 2017 at 8:01 AM ^
Rashan Gary needs to get in shape? What the fuck is he talking about.
