I've noticed the deletion of several posts recently. This one likely will be erased as well. It's my understanding that this blog is moderated and I'm unsure by whom. Some of the deleted posts seem to be deleted out of personal dislike and or counter opinion of the OP opinions. The deletion of anew inflammatory or offensive post is fully reasonable. Mods, I think some of you have overstepped your role and as a result created a blog where some can post and several others cannot, regardless of opinion or topic. That is wrong. Michigan is not yours to hog to yourself and ostracize other Michigan fans from a Michigan fan blog. There has been a lot of Mean Girling on here to put it mildly. Some of us simply come here to talk Michigan sports and are repeatedly turned away by those in the fold here. It's not cool honestly and not a positive representation of Michigan.

he got sent to Bolivia. It pissed him off pretty good, because he did rosters and gameday threads along with being an actual contributor of several thread topics and facts. he said he really enjoyed the posters here and thanked them, but thought it was very unfair for him to be sent to Bolivia for his opinion on why Pep Is the problem for our Offense. He had been with the blog for 6+ years, definitely contributed tons to this board, and being sent to Bolivia means you can't start new thread topics. I would have been pretty upset too if I had as much time invested into the blog as he did, and not be able to contribute anymore until the mods say so, just because an educated opinion wasn't the same opinion of the mods. Sad day on Mgoblog for sure.

I can see deleting the post because there has been plenty of that already. But being sent to Bolivia for that seems really extreme.

Free Mr. Yost!

Also, I'm not an UNACCEPTABLE!! kind of fan, but Pep does seem to be a problem. Jdue had some good stuff on twitter showing some plays. So many plays have basically all of our receivers way downfield. We even tried that rub route thing like 25 yards deep that Herbstreit complained about on the broadcast.

Also, has Michigan run a slant all year? We have almost no quick throwing game. For a struggling OL, QB, and WR corps, that seems insane.

There are rules for posting. Just about all of the threads on here violate the rules because they could go into a post-game thread, or a larger discussion. The mods are generally, very relaxed on this front.

Furthermore, with as many points as you have, you know who the mods are.

Cannot see my posts, including those who do not sign in. Not sure why. It's no big deal to me as my thoughts are usually mentioned by others. The site is free and relevant Michigan material posted. The game summaries and recruiting write ups are usually well written. Overall, worth the read.

Not quite sure but here's his comment I saw in a snowflake thread.

I didn't see said thread, or am not sure if there was a warning before, but it seems a little ridiculous to cave one of the best users on the blog while a bunch of other bullshit was allowed to stay up.

And sending Mr. Yost to Bolivia was extremely dissapointing last night. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. A warning or a direct message to Mr. Yost would have been reasonable, and I understand that we should hold the experienced members of the blog to a slightly higher standard, but they also need to be understanding of emotions after games. If George Pickett isn't in Bolivia right now and Mr. Yost is, that is super lame to me.

The blog has access to press conferences and players. If the blog leaves up a "Fire Pep" thread and becomes known for that type of stuff, that risks the access the blog has. I see a lot of users with many MGoPoints acting like the rules don't apply to them. He was sent to Bolivian. Big deal. It's not like he was shitcanned like M-Wolverine or Section 1.

Hmmm. Interesting. It's not really a place where actual opinions are welcome then? It's just an access tool? Hope not. That would be pretty disappointing.

Yost is one of the better posters on here. Seems a bit of an overreaction to a legitimate opinion.

Do we have to have the "free speech" debate again? The blog has rules. He violated one. He was not ban-hammered, he was sent to Bolivian. I don't know for how long, but typically it is until the season is over. His legitimate reaction could have been posted in the coaching snowflake thread and he would have his precious points today. Instead, he self-importantly made a board post drawing attention to his opinion and he is suffering the consequences as a result. I will add this note of hope for Yost. Poster StephenJrViking was sent to Bolivian awhile back and now he has 200 billion some MGoPoints. So my advice to Yost is take a few days off, relax, and come back stronger and better than before.

I get that. You're right. Can't argue that at all. Just was trying to say what Worldwide said below about this blog being the one that isn't so much a rubber stamp for the home team but I'm with you. I don't think we have to have the free speech debate about it though. If you have to go to those measures to keep people in line then the business has already lost. People should want to be in here but not have to kiss the ring.

I have an opinion on this matter.  Yost could have handled in a better way.  A direct "Fire Pep" thread is not going to cut it and he probably knows better.  He probably should have just shut off the computer and waited 24 hours to get a better grip on the emotions.  I try to follow that rule so I don't say something I might regret and also to avoid the shitshow of posts that follow a a loss.

Aside from our offense being a total train wreck right now, if George Halas and Vince Lombardi were on our sideline yesterday, I don't think the outcome would have changed.  I don't know specifically where the problem lies with the offensive identity and direction, but I trust it will get worked out this offseason.

I mean Dave Brandon used to refer to Brian as "a terrorist" after he went after him. I'm not really sure he's too worried about losing access for what some anonymous user posted.

I don't think anyone's doubting that the thread should have been deleted, but I'd hate to see a quality contributor gone without a warning. It wasn't a blatant politics post of something like that. There just seems to be no consistency in punishments.

I'd much rather see well thought out criticisms than a bunch of sanctimonious threads by users telling people they're bad fans for having legitimate criticisms.

That was the best thing about this blog...”it’s not bought and paid for by the Home team” that’s what makes Brian different than guys like Sam Webb. He can give his unfiltered opinion, without being kicked out of press conferences.

That level of "access protection" is silly, IMO. If a "Fire XYZ" post gets MGoBlog credentials pulled then there are some really weak folks on the UM Football side. And I don't expect that that is the case.

I didn't agree with everything Yost posted but his stuff made the site better, his Boliviaization makes it less so, and I can understand the impulse to to just hit the road if a perhaps errant thread induces such punishment.

Most of the threads you are referring to fit quite neatly into those topics but apparently the OPs felt they were special. A few others were trolls.
If you post something the day of or after a game with nothing more than your feelings about said game expect it to be deleted. Want your OP to stay up?...add something at least new I.e. the thread about penalty inequality...end of story.
