Crystal Balls Coming in for 4-Star OT Blake Frazier

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on March 20th, 2023 at 11:05 AM

Blake Frazier is a 6-5, 260-pound OT from Austin, Texas, who was part of the group on campus this weekend. Two big crystal balls just came in for him - yesterday from Steve Wilfong and today from Sam Webb. Frazier is No. 213 nationally, the No. 36 OT. Yes, please.

Yea I think Michigan leads for 5 WR (Goodwin, Shipp, Stewart, White, and Josh Jackson). And we're probably right there for Gatlin Bair as well. The board is definitely murky at that position. I think they have a few priority takes still available that they are pursuing. Once/if those go south, I'd expect to see some commitments from that group of 5.

He is 213th nationally in the 247 composite, and the 13th OT in the composite, 36th overall recruit in Texas.

He's the 36th OT and a 3 star in the non composite rankings, in which he'd be lower than 213th national.

The latter is still a take. High upside, average B1G tackle low side.

While most on this site seem to feel 247 has the most accurate overall ratings - they are not infallible and tend to shift them as they get to see recruits in-person.

Rivals - commonly thought  to favor those that attend their camps - has Frazier as #52 overall FWIW.

I will wait to see how rankings shake out after the summer camps season for a better read.

TLDR - great prospect either way and would be a great addition to this class.

Why would any highly regarded OL even consider Michigan?

Could it be the coaching?

Could it be the S&C staff?

Could it be the quality of college life and education in A2?

Could it be the back to back Moore Awards?

Could it be the blocking schemes of the OL?

Could it be the overall offensive philosophy and its resemblance to what is played on Sundays?

Could it be the culture?

Could it be “all of the above”?

That is probably the correct way to parent...but fuck that! My 3 year-old daughter regularly blurts out "boo Ohio" and my six year-old son threatened to tackle my wife if her 23andme came back to reveal she was from Ohio. We tried to explain that wasn't how it works but he was laser-focused. We live in Georgia and both of my kids were born in Illinois. That's why you start them early, to keep them loyal. Do the right thing Blake!

Feels like this week will have a steady stream of guys coming and pledging, which would be a nice bit of momentum going into spring/summer.

Good. Load up on as many great offensive linemen as you can, and you'll start to notice that everything else on offense starts falling into place.

Your quarterback has more time to survey the fields, go through his reads and make the throws. Your receivers by extension have more time to get open. Your running back has bigger lanes to run through.

Any offensive linemen recruit should be giving Michigan a good look at this juncture.
