Great news since Juwaan has been pursuing him for awhile

Also if you like tea leaves and bizarre acronyms, our friendly neighborhood Ghost(ofJermaine) left a cryptic "Papa comin" message in the Should We hire Chryst thread below.

"Papa comin'"? You sure his name isn't Tuck Kante?

Throw your hands in the air if you's a true player

This has to be his intro song. No choice.

I realize that’s not his hand on her head, but still maybe put a nsfw warning on this meme….
😉

he’s one of the big fish we need to bring to A2. go get ‘em Juwan!!
October 4th, 2022 at 7:39 PM ^
6'10“. That's why they call him big papa.
Rjc beat me to it and with a gif too. Nice.

Would be a must need pick up.
msu and ohio state both have top 5 classes with msu getting a top 3 player in Booker (despite already having Koehler?).
Our next most likely recruit is a guy ohio state processed.
Just set the record for most Sweet 16s in a row, how are two programs trending down having no issues landing top talent like we are?

Michigan has been very slow to fully embrace NIL as compared to other programs that are out-recruiting us. We have great coaches, a great brand and a lot to offer, but for a 17 year old kid, it’s hard to turn down real, legal, guaranteed NIL money. It has hurt us in both major sports. Hoping we modernize and close the gap.
October 4th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
We are gonna scare off another basketball coach given the new climate where paying guys is allowed, and we still won't do it.
October 5th, 2022 at 4:08 AM ^
You obviously need to read up on your "what's legal" NIL laws.
The fact that MSU just bought a top recruiting class doesn't make it legal.
"Probably not going to be enforced" doesn't make it legal.
Enticement to attend is something Sparty is willing to risk, with their clown show regents.
October 5th, 2022 at 10:16 AM ^
I think they literally meant "legal", as in, not against any actual laws. The NCAA doesn't make laws.

Michigan's entire team this season could come back in 2024. Not saying it will, but this will probably be a pretty small class.

Grad transfer PG is gone.
Baker is gone.
Dickerson is gone.
1 random transfer (we've had at least 1 every year under Howard).
How is a class of 4, small?
October 4th, 2022 at 9:41 PM ^
Who's Dickerson?
That's not a typo - you just don't know his name. You're here talking shit and don't even know who the players are. Fuck off.
October 4th, 2022 at 11:50 PM ^
Dickerson (your spelling) is a junior. He's making almost a million a year at Michigan. He's not going to be drafted. There are no guarantees he's gone. PG.. yes. Baker.. yes. Transfer portal still open next year.

(Franz)
I really think you are the worst poster on
Mgoblog. Unless you are an undercover RCMB troll. Which seems likely.

I think Franz is an a ‘Maizen’ poster.

OSU has been recruiting a high level since Holtmann arrived. It predates NIL and doesn't exactly match their on-court production. Make of that what you will..I don't pay a ton of attention to college basketball recruiting at other schools, but that one jumped out at me.

Perusing the crystalballz and I’m surprised that a guy named Jizzle James only has 8 offers. FoShizzle
October 4th, 2022 at 9:57 PM ^
Interesting. Thought I just read he was trending away. Bring him in!!
October 4th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
This guy has been right 100% of the time, so I like his balls!
Would be welcome news to get the big man.

When looking at the CB list I noticed Cinci got a point guard commit. (Jizzle James has to be a name of the year candidate.)
For those in the know….does this suggest anything regarding Collier? I thought consensus was that he was down to Cincinnati, M, and USC.
October 5th, 2022 at 6:53 AM ^
Unfortunately it has always seemed as if USC is the leader though. They are trending for a combo guard as well so maybe that is a good sign? I’m hoping for the best but I think Cinci just moved on. Papa is definitely a need though with Hunter most likely moving on and only having Reed in the middle.

Great news is true. Now as Frau Farbissina would scream, it is time to:
BRING IN THE GUARDS!
October 5th, 2022 at 1:56 PM ^
Would be a great pick up and give a little more juice to the recruiting class.
October 6th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
I hope this is true as Papa was at the top of the board for Howard… he has been taking his time which caused some concern (and Memphis hired his HS coach as an asst)
hopefully the CB is right
