Ball going from Ruiz to McCaffrey to Peoples-Jones should be something that happens a lot in the next few years. Although Speight will be in there for awhile first.
January 6th, 2017 at 8:09 AM ^
He's a year ahead of McCaffrey and I really like what I have seen of him -- it wouldn't shock me to see him as the starter next year.
January 6th, 2017 at 12:35 PM ^
just curious, what have you seen of peters?
January 6th, 2017 at 8:25 AM ^
I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we see Peters starting at QB next year. Speight did a good job last season and was clearly better than O'Korn but is he really a guy who can lead a young team to BIG Ten title contention? Plus, Harbaugh recruited Peters and Speight is a Hoke recruit. My guess is Peters is the starting QB against Florida (even though I will most likely be wrong)

"is he really a guy who can lead a young team to BIG Ten title contention?"
Well, yes, because he did.
January 9th, 2017 at 1:24 PM ^
He was playing with very experienced OL and WR (not to mention Butt) that he will not have next year. That is what I meant by a "young team". The offense next season will have much less experience than this year's squad.
January 6th, 2017 at 7:34 AM ^
..just because I want to see this reaction
January 6th, 2017 at 8:18 AM ^
But . . . but . . . he said that Harbaugh's satellite camps are cute and all, and they may hurt programs like South Alabama and Louisiana Tech, but Michigan would never get a top recruit that an SEC school actually wanted.
He lied.

Ahhh, crootin...
Harris disappoints me, but its his loss of PT if he chooses to stand in line instead of compete. Soloman showed his ass recently, because kids. But class comes through, kid or not. Wilson was another sad one... Fuck Georgia. Fuck them to hell!
But I'm more than happy with guys that chose correctly, especially DPJ, McCaffrey, ... especially everybody. I'm pretty damned happy with this class from top to bottom - there isn't anyone that I don't think actually belongs!
January 6th, 2017 at 8:23 AM ^
by the "if Harris goes to Bama he's choosing to sit instead of competing for the starting job at Michigan" logic. He will compete at Bama, one might even argue that the competition to play at Bama would be a tougher challenge to take on. There is no way you redshirt a 5 star running back, is there? He might be good enough to play a considerable amount of snaps for Bama next year as a freshman. Can we please stop with the whole "he is shying away from competition by choosing Bama", it's a pretty flawed argument to me.

Yes, they certainly can redshirt a 5 star running back and we probably would too.

If you're going to quote me, you should do it right! I said "stand in line", not sit. There's a good size difference...

there will be very few questions left
Nico and the DT's
the rest will have or won't have committed by then
and what, 12 or so early enrollees will take out some drama too
seems like most top players in the country will be committed before signing day

I think of Najee Harris as a lottery ticket. It's a log shot.
But I don't really have all that much invested in it, and there is still an actual tiny chance that I could win.
But if I don't, I'm not going to be all broken up about it. It's not like I was foolish enough to count on it.

If he comes, great, but I've never believed it was more than a 50/50 crapshoot.
If the choice was only between Harris or a dominant DL or OL, I'd go with the latter anyhow.
January 6th, 2017 at 8:01 AM ^
Did we ever offer this kid?
He's looking pretty good at the ARMY practices.
I know we're pretty stacked at WR, but maybe if Nico doesn't come...and the possibility of Perry not returning.
Also, someone please what's a POSBANG? Sorry, I'm a rookie..

We offered him and the interest was there, but I'm not sure if he was a take for the class. With Crawford, Eddie McDoom, Nate Johnson, and Brad Hawkins, I think we're fairly set for slot receivers.
POSBANG = Let's bang each other with upvotes.
