Was Payton the supposed insider information he had? I remember him going on and on about having a "reputable, trusted source" that told him who our next coach would be. He said it was NOT Harbaugh, but somebody Michigan fans would be "excited about." I don't remember him ever actually revealing the supposed coach.

When these guys say this stuff it makes me think they just don't understand harbaugh. He loves his life at UM. it's his lifelong dream. He's the top dog, gets to mentor kids and coach, loves a2, gets to spend time with his 42 kids, go to work at the big house, have fun, walk through graveyards or some shit, host a podcast with his dad who moved to a2, hold rallies for jumpman, take kids to Europe. He's living his dream. The only thing that makes me think he might jump to NFL is his drive to win a super bowl and avenge the loss to his brother. But otherwise I just sense he's a UM lifer. Cowherd etc have to come up with a lot of words day in and out. Of course they say this stuff.

Isn't it common knowledge by now that when a sports reporter (used very loosley) wants attention or to show thier value they talk about something they know will get a negative reaction from Michigan fans.  They know what everyone in the media knows, negative press gets much more attention than positive.  Ecspecially negative press about Michigan when it comes to sports.

The media discusses App State every damn year during the opening week of the season, they will discuss the split title the next time we play Nebraska.  Harbaugh to the NFL is just another one of those things.  When is the next article going to be posted about how quiet the Big House is?   We could create an entire board post about negative things the media says about Michigan to get a reaction.  They know whats going to happen, it leads to someone posting a link on here about it and also someone posting it on a rival teams (all 20+ of them, even the rivals we don't know about) site so they can enjoy the thought of our fan base being miserable over something.

We have to be one of only two or three schools where a higher percentage of fans hate us more than they like thier own school.  They celebrate our misery more than a win for thier school.  Most MSU fans that I know can't even tell me who thier starting QB is but are very aware that the score was close in the third against Cincinnatti on Saturday.  They shut up again in the fourth quarter thankfully.

Is the fact that not every coach sees the NFL as their ideal destination. And many that do go there find it to be a very tough place with several firings each season.

Now, to be fair, the topic list that day was either "Will Harbaugh Go To The Colts?" or "Will Jason Whitlock Eat An Entire Pot Roast Using Only This Spork?" with a smattering of "Why Doesn't Eastern Washington Invite Me To Do More Color Analysis?"

In retrospect, the second topic might have even gotten better ratings at a national level.

for the last several years, when he co-starred on SportsNation with the lovely Michelle Beadle. And even then, I watched primarily because Beadle is so hot. She and Cowherd worked well as foils to each other's personalities, making for an entertaining show, but I'm not gonna lie, Michelle Beadle is gorgeous.

Well he has the lovely Kristine Leahy on now, so you should tune back in. I listen to him sometimes when I'm on the road, mostly because he's on after Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen. IMO the top two shows on the radio. He's not that bad if you just ignore some of his ridiculous opinions and metaphors. I find him much more annoying when I watch him on TV, I think it's his face.

Harbaugh coached, and loves Andrew Luck. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Harbaugh did leave for Indy, especially when we lose to Ohio state again.

I don't really see him going anywhere for a while but If we win a national title, it wouldn't surprise me. I have no idea what's in his heart, but not winning a Super Bowl after getting so close has to haunt him a little bit.

What's funny is that the other day on his show with Whitlock, JW was the one saying Harbaugh might go to the Colts and Cowherd said the Colts would calm but Jim would stay at Michigan.

Just 2 days ago or so he said he doesn't see harbaugh going to the colts or leaving Michigan for a while in a very rational response on one of the shows. Weird how that changed so quickly for him.

Cowherd is just taking a wild swing at speculating about a vague possibility, and straining to put together plausible facts to support his case.

I'm not offended by him trying to fill airtime with a little contrived controversy.

Bark, bark, bark; and the caravan to victory keeps moving along.

Where would you rather raise a family: Indianapolis or Ann Arbor?

As much as I'd like to think otherwise, I can picture Harbaugh leaving for the NFL under certain circumstances. Those circumstances being: a MI NC (most likely to leave), or at least a B10 champ...both dependent on him feeling that he'd leave the program in good hands. I hope he stays forever, do t get me wrong. But I feel like if HE feels that he has achieved the best he can at MI, and can leave the team confident that it will be in good hands, that he would/could return to the NFL to slay his Mobu Dick of being a winning Super Bowl coach. For the same reasons we love him--he is an intense, competitive dude, striving for the top.

Not going to start a thread about it, but I'm convinced the Bengals think their helmet is the Winged Helmet of the NFL. How do you not wear a white helmet with these uniforms?

In an attempt to pretend they care about head injuries, the NFL made a rule that you have to use the same helmet the whole season unless it is damaged. It just takes too much work to paint them for one game now, as opposed to having an extra alternate one like they used to be able to.

College has no such rule because numerous studies have shown that new helmets with bladders or polypropylene padding don't need a break-in period like the old hard foam helmets used to.

Living here in the west coast I hear lots of non bias things from lots of people in my business. I choose to not get into my business but it's sports related, mainly football and baseball. The big rumor here that is constantly talked about is the following. Shoot me if you want but just repeated the talk from people in the know.

Harbaugh to the Rams is the one we should all be worried about. Rumor is if he were to go he would be paid $12-15 million and have all player personal decisions and he picks his GM. Just seems strange to me that Harbaugh has hired himself a whole NFL staff including a GM type guy at Michigan. Rumor is if he were to leave his whole foundation is basically in place.

I love Michigan and if he were to leave I would be pretty upset. I don't see him leaving for a few years if he decides to. But then again I could see him staying home until he retires. I hope he never leaves
