Moving this up as posted down in the thread by Steve Sharik...  Don't like the smell of this...

The decision was made by the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee, in consultation with the NCAA Medical Advisory Group.

The move by the NCAA served as disappointing — and baffling — news for the program.

"I'm devastated for these players. These student-athletes have done a wonderful job all year of making sacrifices to get to this point of the year," head coach Mel Pearson said in a statement. "It's unfortunate. I don't completely understand the final decision but I have to respect it."

I alluded to this possibility in a thread yesterday. With Michigan’s first testing day being Wednesday, I thought there would have been a decision made on whether or not we’ll play already. ND’s decision was made the same day as their testing, so I thought Michigan would be in the clear despite the rumors of a positive test within the team.

Another possibility for the late removal is they tested Wednesday, everything checked out, and the rumors were false. But they tested again today and that’s when they found the positive(s). Forcing a late removal.

I thought the draw was really crappy at first, but the more this site previewed it the more and more excited I was becoming. Not to mention, sure, NoDak is at home but it isn't like they'd have a home crowd. Just...damn, man. If AIC wins tonight, lol...that would just figure.

You gotta play it safe even with just one positive and can't risk compromising the whole event, but this completely ruins my day. Cant imagine how the players are feeling. Classic dong kick to the collective M-nation. Every year we get a new one in.

I thought we were in the clear yesterday or two days ago and that everyone cleared protocol? ah well, shit.

This is curious:
