Could Tarik Black return for bowl game?
Is it possible that Black could return for bowl pratices and the bowl game? I know people have listed him as a redshirt due to his injury, but I have my doubts that he would stay another four years based on his talent level. It doesn't seem to be a situaltion where burning his redshirt would matter in the long run, and any extra reps not only help the team in the bowl game but also in his developement for next year. Has anyone heard mention?

what has been blown? My point is that if he and the coaching staff believe he will be NFL ready within 3 years, there is no reason to hold his redshirt. There is also the possiblity that he gets hurt again, and would not be able to redshirt then because he has already used it this season.

Let him travel, have some fun with the team, but why risk it when UM will only throw about ten passes anyway.

Hope he doesn't play if healthy. You never know what could happen in the next 3 years. He's far from being an NFL draft pick.

He will be ready. He will not play but a final decision hasn't been made.

He should be ready but shouldn't play. Don't burn redshirt.

He said something to the effect, "Looking at the defense, it was apparent we needed to get some players ready for next year.' That's really always been his attitude. If they are ready to play no sense holding them back because there are just too damn many things that can happen in cfb and you might as well take advantage of the known-I know he'll play while he's here if I tell him he's going to-instead of worrying about the unknown. Peppers is case in point on this. He left as a RS Soph due to injury but we all know we somehow got jobbed out of about 8 games from that young man.

I think the value of him playing in the bowl game against good competition and with his future QB and other receivers outweights the possibility of a 5th year.

Black will go into next season as one of Michigan's top 2 receivers. If he's here after 4 years, he's not as good as we thought.
Michigan has playoff hopes the next two seasons. This Bowl game, with a young roster, is extremely important. It's important for their development and for recruiting. There's no excuse to save a year of eligibility if he's ready to play.

Maybe not. Sucks he got hurt so early, but the whole Nico burning redshirt only to get hurt right away seems like a major waste.

If a WR is good enough to be invited back for a 5th year but not good enough to go Pro, he's role player. On a team that can reload with highly rated recruits consistently, 5th year seniors will be limited in their contributions at WR.

We have a month to go. They're not going to confirm it now.

Playing him in one mostly pointless game we should win anyways is not even remotely worth sacrificing a potential, and likely, entire season.

I said mostly pointless, and it is, and his effect on our chance of winning it is miniscule.
Really? You're saying every single senior wr we've had has been shit and we could've done without them? Because tahts pretty much every WR we've had since so few have gone pro early. I'd take that senior year over 1 game 10 times out of 10.

I liked Black's tweet....
"Thinking about going back to my roots and switching my number to #3 next year" with a couple 'scratching chin" emojis.
Thread has a pic of Patterson wearing #7 at Army game.
Somewhat joking but would Coach Harbaugh let a QB wear #20?
