Cool Story about 2018 Pregame UM-MSU
I'm not sure if everyone remembers Hunter Reynolds, he was a walk on safety that played here from 2017-2020 before transferring. He worked his way up the depth chart and made some plays here.
He has a youtube page now and he actually posted a cool little story about the pre-game MSU-Devin Bush scuffle in 2018.
He also has some cool videos about his time at Michigan, Utah State and football in general. Hopefully the mgo community enjoys it and can support his page. Although he did go to my rival high school so that stings a bit.
Hopefully the embed worked, if not, go easy on me.

My coworker's son's best friend was on that 2018 Michigan team. The Friday before the game I was wearing a Michigan shirt and she came up to me and said that her son's best friend told her that the team had never been so focused and hyped for a game and that they were going to win.
MSU was held to under 100 yards.

And yet we barely won that game.

Barely? 400 yards to 96 yards. 21 to 7 and we missed a field goal and fumbled within field goal range. Their only score came because we fumbled it inside of our own 10 yard line.
The score was closer than the statistical domination showed.

94 yards.
The defense was locked in. Missing a FG, Shea's 83.7 QB rating, 2 lost fumbles (one that took away a score from us, one that handed them their only score)...that's not locked in.
It would have been nice if the score reflected the domination.
But I'll take it.

I used to play this game. Red Rover Red Rover, let Devin Bush come over. I always chose the weakest link to run through. Looks like Devin Bush had lots of options. I don't think he brought anyone back to the Michigan side.

Wow, that’s Hunter Reynolds? For the past week Reels of his kept popping up on my Facebook feed. I have really enjoyed them and wanted to figure out who this guy was/where he played because he mentioned being a former D-1 football player.
That’s pretty awesome. Going to definitely keep up with his content because so far I’ve been very impressed!

He seems very cool but there was nothing in that 8 minute video that was very interesting or enlightening.

Interesting.

Exactly what I was thinking. The only "new" thing I learned was that most of the players saw the incident from either the TV in the locker room or one of the guys finding it on Twitter.

Rocky Lombardi took snaps for MSU this game.
And he's still playing for NIU.

That picture of DB facing the entire msu team is not only one of the greatest Michigan pictures ever, but one of the greatest sports rivalry pictures ever.
