Yeah that seems wild. I have comcast and I pay $135/mo for 300MB internet, HBO, HD cable, DVR, and sports package. Seems like a fair deal to me. I've had them 3 years now and haven't had any down time or speed issues. Maybe I'm lucky.

If I cut the cord, I'm looking at a $75 internet plan of similar speeds, $15 hulu, $15 HBO which already gets me to $105 and I'd have to find a way to get ESPN, BTN and FS1. At best, what I save can cover a week of starbucks.

So, for now, I'm not cutting the cord.

Same boat. I get hbo and a ton of channels for 40 dollars more a month than internet alone. If I piece meal things together with several services, I can get a no frills package with just the channels I want and save about 10 bucks a month. Or I can get my cable package with some extra channnels that might be interesting to me or my family when I’m bored and pay the 10 dollar premium.

For the record, I hate the cable companies, and I totally feel like they’re fucking me. The problem is that the only cable carrier is also the only internet carrier in my area. I wish I had google fiber or another internet altenative so I could capitalize on the savings. But for me 10 bucks a month to have a ton of extra channels plus the Convenience of not having to launch an individual application each time I want to watch a different channel is totally worth it

to little to late for me I switched to Direct TV  when they cancelled the BTN in the Atlanta Market....I wonder how many customers they lost...STUPID on their part if they were going to keep it all along

I need to switch to Comcast.  Right now, I pay them $105/mon for internet, and pay DirecTV ~$250/mon for TV service.  I've had DTV for going on 30 years, but the AT&T buyout has not been good.  The new channel guide and SW package is flat out horrible.  And the price is pretty much out of reach.  I've reached my breaking point with them - the price and guide SW don't make it worthwhile, anymore.  Aside from that, I have zero problem with DTV and would highly recommended the service (and have many times).

Cord cutting isn't an option for me, because I have multiple TV's and want specific channels (Nick) that most don't offer.  And I refuse to watch TV on a phone, tablet, or laptop.  So I'm stuck with cable.
