College Hoops Thread

Submitted by Jordan2323 on November 29th, 2020 at 5:01 PM

Figured I would try to start a thread about a sport where our favorite team actually has a chance to succeed this year.

Kentucky was beaten today by the Richmond Spiders. I love how Juwan is getting surefire one and done players but also dipping into the 2-3 year top 100 talent as well. UK replaces their roster every year and it shows.

Ohio State was taken to the last 3 minutes today as well. I didnt think they looked that good to be honest.

Villanova lost last night to Virginia Tech.

I think its gonna be a wide open year this year. The lack of crowds at home arenas makes a lot of difference and eliminates the home environment advantage. The NCAA tournament will be interesting of they play in one city and no fans.

Any thoughts on these topics, today's starting lineup or anything else that doesn't involve another redundant hot take about Michigan football would be appreciated.

Why the fuck did he auto bench Smith? Davis should only come in for 10 spot minutes, Eli has to play off the ball, Smith needs to run the offense and Livers should be in the corner taking those shots that Brown keeps missing.

Well that was the worst half of basketball I have seen in years. 15 turnovers. Unacceptable. Harbaugh must have gave them a pregame speech.

Need an actual point guard that’s not a freshman. Brian was smoking crack thinking Brooks can replace X. Need Smith back in the 2nd half.

Franz Wagner is overrated af.

Oakland at the half this year:

Xavier: 53, Oakland: 12

Toledo: 43, Oakland 20

Bradley 43, Oakland 28

Michigan 31, Oakland 33

Michigan has enough depth to be a team that pushes tempo - the turnovers are indicative of them not being great in half court.
Coaches know this but I’d like to see them run teams off floor- and since they’re not tremendous on defensive end, maybe press more too.
Transition team, IMO

It’s still early but obviously a terrible half. Let’s see what adjustments are made. Have to keep Smith in there as much as possible as Eli is struggling on the ball. Not going to write them off.

Auto bench Smith hurt

Davis just can’t handle the pace

lazy passes all over, use a ball fake?

livers and franz looking erratic, livers yelling at Howard?

Defense still work in progress, zeb playing flat footed

johns was lone bright spot for me, Dickinson was reading the game pretty well

gotta get back to basics. Stop sleep walking. Getting outhustled

5 turnovers by Brooks in the first half should put an end to any thought that he could replace X as the primary ball handler.

Howard is a good coach. He will pull them together and get the second half looking drastically different. Players trying too hard to force the game vs a zone. Need to work the ball, hit open shots or find the openings in the zone.

Wagner is stunningly unathletic.....gonna fall off big bro's coattails for sure. Every game he gets an excuse.

Not gonna win with lazy passing and 15 TOs in the second half.

I'm trying to listen to the game out here in the Kansas wilderness on the U of M feed-bad connection and bad call.

It sounds as though Oakland is playing a match-up type zone and Michigan is absolutely clueless in how to attack it. The announcers are equally clueless in this regard.

Well I see the 2nd half looks a lot like 1st. This has been a shit weekend for Michigan athletics. I guess the basketball team needs an App. St. Game. The horror in crisler.
