College Hoops Thread
Figured I would try to start a thread about a sport where our favorite team actually has a chance to succeed this year.
Kentucky was beaten today by the Richmond Spiders. I love how Juwan is getting surefire one and done players but also dipping into the 2-3 year top 100 talent as well. UK replaces their roster every year and it shows.
Ohio State was taken to the last 3 minutes today as well. I didnt think they looked that good to be honest.
Villanova lost last night to Virginia Tech.
I think its gonna be a wide open year this year. The lack of crowds at home arenas makes a lot of difference and eliminates the home environment advantage. The NCAA tournament will be interesting of they play in one city and no fans.
Any thoughts on these topics, today's starting lineup or anything else that doesn't involve another redundant hot take about Michigan football would be appreciated.

Michigan is now losing to one of the worst teams in the country at halftime. Way to get your team ready to play, coach.
November 29th, 2020 at 6:56 PM ^
Why the fuck did he auto bench Smith? Davis should only come in for 10 spot minutes, Eli has to play off the ball, Smith needs to run the offense and Livers should be in the corner taking those shots that Brown keeps missing.
November 29th, 2020 at 6:56 PM ^
Thank God the early signing period already started.
November 29th, 2020 at 6:56 PM ^
We look so lethargic
November 29th, 2020 at 6:57 PM ^
Is Harbaugh a better coach than Howard?
/s, kinda
November 29th, 2020 at 6:57 PM ^
Well that was the worst half of basketball I have seen in years. 15 turnovers. Unacceptable. Harbaugh must have gave them a pregame speech.
November 29th, 2020 at 6:58 PM ^
Sigh
Basketball was supposed to take our minds OFF of football.
November 29th, 2020 at 6:59 PM ^
Need an actual point guard that’s not a freshman. Brian was smoking crack thinking Brooks can replace X. Need Smith back in the 2nd half.
Franz Wagner is overrated af.
November 29th, 2020 at 6:59 PM ^
6 points in the final 9 minutes on 8 shots. 8 SHOTS.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
yes, but how many turnovers over that timeframe? you're burying the lede.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:00 PM ^
Oakland at the half this year:
Xavier: 53, Oakland: 12
Toledo: 43, Oakland 20
Bradley 43, Oakland 28
Michigan 31, Oakland 33
November 29th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
they've really improved!!
November 29th, 2020 at 7:00 PM ^
The Zone D is giving Michigan all kinds of problems. Very sloppy play!
November 29th, 2020 at 7:01 PM ^
Michigan has enough depth to be a team that pushes tempo - the turnovers are indicative of them not being great in half court.
Coaches know this but I’d like to see them run teams off floor- and since they’re not tremendous on defensive end, maybe press more too.
Transition team, IMO
November 29th, 2020 at 7:02 PM ^
It’s still early but obviously a terrible half. Let’s see what adjustments are made. Have to keep Smith in there as much as possible as Eli is struggling on the ball. Not going to write them off.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:02 PM ^
Livers pissed me off, his play sucks and he's jawing with the HC. If I'm Juwan, I would bench his ass.
Smith needs to play, why isn't he playing? Anyone have any info?
November 29th, 2020 at 7:04 PM ^
Edit: Fouls autobench
November 29th, 2020 at 7:04 PM ^
November 29th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
Thanks guys
November 29th, 2020 at 7:04 PM ^
Auto bench Smith hurt
Davis just can’t handle the pace
lazy passes all over, use a ball fake?
livers and franz looking erratic, livers yelling at Howard?
Defense still work in progress, zeb playing flat footed
johns was lone bright spot for me, Dickinson was reading the game pretty well
gotta get back to basics. Stop sleep walking. Getting outhustled
November 29th, 2020 at 7:06 PM ^
Wagner is ... whew.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:09 PM ^
He has 5 more rebounds than anyone else and is tied in assists. Others are playing far worse.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:13 PM ^
He has 2 pts and 3 turnovers.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:25 PM ^
and he's been the only decent defender--it's a matter of comparison
November 29th, 2020 at 7:06 PM ^
5 turnovers by Brooks in the first half should put an end to any thought that he could replace X as the primary ball handler.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:07 PM ^
Howard is a good coach. He will pull them together and get the second half looking drastically different. Players trying too hard to force the game vs a zone. Need to work the ball, hit open shots or find the openings in the zone.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
Thing is they ran great stuff just very sloppy with the ball. They still are missing good guard pentrators though if Smith stays out of foul trouble he will provide that here in second half
November 29th, 2020 at 7:15 PM ^
Bam, hit the open shot, don’t force it. Smith needs to run point.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:07 PM ^
Hopefully browns not in there making the so-called halftime adjustments!
November 29th, 2020 at 7:15 PM ^
Brown reminds me of Anthony Wright. Same movement and
unjustified) confidence. Presumaby he will be better.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:18 PM ^
I was talking about don brown! Lol
November 29th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
Wagner is stunningly unathletic.....gonna fall off big bro's coattails for sure. Every game he gets an excuse.
Not gonna win with lazy passing and 15 TOs in the second half.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:11 PM ^
Same problem as most recent years ... we have guys waiting to shoot threes with nobody who can take the ball to the rack off the dribble.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:14 PM ^
Mike Smith says hello...nice dribble drive
November 29th, 2020 at 7:14 PM ^
Mike Smith is Michigan’s most important player.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:15 PM ^
Smith needs to stay on the floor -- insta-spark
November 29th, 2020 at 7:15 PM ^
Whoever said get out in transition? Winner winner chicken dinner. Have to work on zone offense. Let’s see some more push the pace.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:16 PM ^
I'm trying to listen to the game out here in the Kansas wilderness on the U of M feed-bad connection and bad call.
It sounds as though Oakland is playing a match-up type zone and Michigan is absolutely clueless in how to attack it. The announcers are equally clueless in this regard.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:26 PM ^
Try
I'm using the Strnoid stream, but the others should work.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:16 PM ^
Team needs a PG. No Smith, no PG.
Zeb and Eli don't have the handle. Eli at least can D up and shoot. Not sure what Zeb can do at this level yet.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:18 PM ^
Well that minute of competent basketball was nice while it lasted.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:20 PM ^
This team is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:21 PM ^
Get Austin out, he's bad rebounder and passer and just terrible in this zone.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:21 PM ^
That play alone isn't why I type this but do people really think Franz is off to the NBA after this year?
November 29th, 2020 at 7:23 PM ^
If he's going to play like this on offense, I hope he's off to somewhere.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:23 PM ^
He is never going to the nba. To soft and can’t shoot.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
Yikes, football flashbacks.....
November 29th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
I’m concerned
November 29th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
This is embarrassing and frustrating.
November 29th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
Well I see the 2nd half looks a lot like 1st. This has been a shit weekend for Michigan athletics. I guess the basketball team needs an App. St. Game. The horror in crisler.
