College Game Day and Big Noon Kickoff Open Thread

Submitted by M-Dog on November 11th, 2023 at 9:05 AM

College Game Day is at Athens for Ole Miss - Georgia.

Big Noon Kickoff is at State College for Michigan - Penn State.

Let's talk about . . . stuff.

Why doesn't Desmond just say that sign-stealing is perfectly legal according to the rules of the game, and that people can subscribe to 3rd parties for videos of each game?  That's essentially all CS did!  And nobody says that!

The term 'reporting' hasn't been true for 'reporters' in decades.

When the Georgia fans were yelling "cheaters" when Des was talking about Michigan, I just wish he would have barked back at them: "You're all sure your house is clean, right?  You're all ready to operate in this new PI investigation environment, right?"

Nobody is going to know if M got the TRO. Then, during the middle of the third quarter in a tight game on a third down and four Stone Cold Steve Austin's music is going to scream over the PA System breaking glass and Jim Harbaugh is going to come out of that tunnel as 100,000 stunned fans and 10,000 M fanatics go absolutely nuts and Mason Graham chases a fleeing Drew Allar and chokeslams him into Frames, tearing three ACLs in one move.. M destroys Penn State deja vu 34-8.

I forgot how cringe the gameday intro is. I am embarrassed to be watching it. I closed it. Fuck them and fuck ESPN.

Its mornings line this I am glad I am a fan of soccer too. I will watch Premier League games and coverage or maybe catch some Bundesliga… until noon.  I wont have to hear a single word from all the haters.

JJ calls an audible for the first TD - “BET, BET, BET hike”

mike Hart follows that by calling a time out on the very next play from scrimmage.

Harbaugh runs in from the tunnel to a stunned crowd

They couldn't wait to get Thamel on and he had this disgusting grin of glee while discussing it. You could tell right off that the former players and coach on the crew weren't for this suspension and they were all on the same page. I didn't like Reece's comments either. I bet his predecessor on the show would have been for us.

I had no idea that Rece Davis was such a sanctimonious ass. He’s talking about the punishment to be recruiting restrictions for the equivalent of parking tickets (unproven as of yet). Just surprised he hasn’t called for a public guillotining of Harbaugh.

Well, I hope Michigan planned on this not getting granted in time all along. This is not a good situation.

If it was me, I would have Mike Hart be the interim HC, that way Minter and Moore can focus on their normal play calling.

I hope Michigan sues the B1G for tens of millions. Also, I'd be fine with the ruining of the careers of Thamel and Rece Davis.

Mike Hart is the only answer.  Sure, Moore and Minter have higher positions as OC and DC, but Mike is family.  Mike played for Michigan, and as such will get more leash from the fanbase.  That doesn't matter for this game, but it would going forward if the biased decision holds.  We love Sherrone and Jesse, but facts is facts - family will get more leash going forward.

As bad a McAfee is, Jess Sims is worse.  She is the worst 'reporter' I've ever seen on these shows, just awful.  I cannot stand anything she does.  And she looks like she has a bad Halloween costume on today.  She and Reese deserve to be locked in a cell with McAfee for the rest of time so the rest of us don't have to see or hear them.

Gawd I hate that rancid bitch.

She is on her 2nd year of doing these 30 second segments, and she still reads them from cue cards.

It's not just that she doesn't know anything about the sport that she allegedly covers, it's that she doesn't even care that she doesn't know anything about the sport that she allegedly covers.

Great casting choice there, ESPN.  Some ESPN executive's wife convinced him that what College Game Day really needs is a Peleton instructor on the show.
