Christian Hackenburg gets it. Michigan is playing complimentary football

Says he loves the way Michigan goes about it's business. Between the tackles with complimentary offense and great defense.

"he loves the way Michigan goes about it's business."

It's not outrageous but its use, that is, "it's" instead of "its," is wrong.

(To be fair though, that distinction is slipping away. The English language has always slid past rules, with shifting usages that makes it both frustratingly sloppy and gloriously flexible.)

I remember how good he looked as a freshman during his first year at Penn State under BoB.

Every time I hear his name, I wonder how different his career trajectory would've been if BoB had stayed at Penn State for Hackenburg's entire tenure. There would've likely been limitations as Penn State was dealing with the fallout from the sanctions, but he probably would've been much better than how his career ended under Franklin. Maybe even pro material.

You could tell Hackenburg and Franklin were just flat out not a fit for each other.

My new hot take is that Franklin hates QBs. That's the best explanation I can come up with for how each and every PSU QB has ended up during his tenure.

Hackenberg is probably STILL sore from all the hits he took. He, Clifford, Devin Gardner, and Drew Stanton can swap stories about bad OL and worse coaching getting them lit up.

It's remarkable to me in that since Franklin has taken over, his offensive line has never even made it above mediocre. Most years its just terrible, and its not like he can't recruit talent. They've just been awful at developing that position.

How much better would his freshmen RBs be this year if they had a line that could block for them? Shoot, how much better would Barkley have been with a better OL? And he was already one of the best players in the country by his final year. Probably would've won the Heisman.

I think the quick strike question is fair.  Although Michigan really has not had to show that aspect of the offense.  Whether or not they can do it certainly is debateable, but I do think they have the speed in Wilson to take the top off.  It would be nice to that over these next three weeks to losen up the box a little.

Michigan just chokes teams out.  Can't remember the dudes name but it reminds me of the little cage fighter from the 90's that would just ride everyone out with choke holds.

Yes, him. While everyone else was throwing haymakers or lethal kicks, he’d dance around avoiding all of those, peer in a few kicks or punches himself, and then suddenly strike like a boa constrictor, and before you realized what had happened the other guy would be tapping out.

It's definitely fair. His pondering about what would happen if UM found themselves down a few scores early is also on point as I just don't think they're built to respond to that.

They haven't needed more but the UM offense is basically the same exact thing as last year but a slightly different, if not downgraded backfield due to depth (not Corum alone, who is tremendous) and a slightly better QB. JJ is basically Cade+ , whether by design or his limitations at the moment. Better arm, better legs, slightly better field vision. Still misses or simply passes up a lot. "Meat on the bone" as some say.

But a lot of ball to be played and a win is a win is a win. I just hope they can kick it up a gear when they have to, because they will have to at some point.

I have completely given up any hope that Harbaugh will ever throw the ball in order to get "practice" at doing it.  Harbaugh will throw balls only as part of a gameplan to best win a game.  He will never throw more than that, and he will never run the QB more than that to "practice".  He is clearly an A.I. created with one primary program: to win football games in the most physical possible way while creating 300 kPa of pressure in the anus of each Michigan fan for 180 minutes every Saturday.  He is the perfect A.I. for this.

This guy appreciates good o line play more than most. He had a lot of arm talent and his career would have looked very different had he gone to a place without scholarship restrictions.

That's a name I haven't heard in a while. Hope he is doing well. Too bad Franklin did not do a good job protecting him.

Yeah. Michigan is doing really well. Funny how we were all so worried about Defense at the beginning of the season. Now we are wondering about our passing offense and RZ woes. I think it will be fixed or opened up in the upcoming weeks. One thing these coaches have done well is self scouting.

We are. And you know, it is good enough to get to 11-0. It may even be enough to get to 12 and 13-0. Is it enough to win in the CFP? We'll see, but for now we have won 20 of our last 22 and are 8-0 and well on track to be undefeated going into Columbus.

The 'trap' part gets me a little, but not so much Illinois.  I've watched them a little against Iowa and Nebraska, and they didn't look top tier.  Better than Wake, NCST, Cuse, etc...  But not up to our level, or even Clemson/TCU level (which I feel is lower Top 10 territory.  I don't think they're going to be able to stop us, or move the ball consistently.  Chase Brown is good, but the rest just isn't at Michigan's level.
