Cheers - to the best Saturday of College Football in recent memory
What a great day of football. It's rare anymore that I can park on the couch at noon and be content to sit here till midnight watching football but here I've sat from the end of gameday till now because it felt like there was constant flow of 2-3 great games going at a time
MSU upsetting PSU on a FG as time expired...Bedlam going into an absolute shootout and still manging to come down to the last minute...Iowa absolutely destroying OSU in a Kinnick classic...NC State and Clemson going down to the wire...the entire SEC looking awful today...four top 25 matchups so far and now three consecutive top 25 matchups to wrap up the night
This is why we love college football. Don't tell me I was the only one who loved the whole day from start to finish.

the bomb part of things. Time given by the line, and WR to get open, a QB to make the throw, and a WR to catch it.
I'll enjoy that.

Was an absolute thing of beauty. Oh how I loved those days of smash mouth Michigan football!

but I love PSU losing and the game was great. A top 10 upset on a field goal as time expired to officially knock Ped State out of the CFP race? I'll accept that outcome even if it makes the Spartans happier today

Because I am happy PSU lost. The fact that MSU did it to them is irrelevant for me.
We should all be happy when child rape deniers/enablers are unhappy.

MSU is my second favorite team and PSU is my least favorite, especially in the east/midwest.
And I like college football better when OSU and ND are top programs because I'm a fan of mid west football above all.
The only teams I really dislike are the LA teams since those clowns don't really follow sports, they wear the "hot team" like a new outfit.

I think you lost the right to judge other fans when you said the following:
"I'm literally keeping my season tickets to boo...fuck this team and Harbaugh."

Amen to that! That Iowa game, just...[raises fingers to pursed lips] MWAH!!!!

Wasn't sure who I wanted to win PSU/MSU. PSU is worse because , well, we all know, but MSU continually squeaking past teams is getting annoying.
Became an Iowa fan today. Checked on the score as I was leaving work and was stunned for a moment.
Thug Rose beat JJ, so it wasn't a perfect day.

Good to see people going out and doing what they're supposed to do - play football. And these kids aren't even getting paid like the crybabies in the NFL. I know last year a couple of college kids "protested" but nothing like the scale of the NFL. I have to admit I've been turned off by the NFL this year. It's no longer a priority for me on Sundays.
November 5th, 2017 at 1:39 PM ^
Oooh boy. If they choose to protest, its their right, is it not? What these 'crybabies' in the NFL are protesting seems like a worthy cause to me. And its their right too. And I think they've been pretty respectful in doing so and have brought attention to a major problem affecting our society and our democracy. To tell you the truth, I would actually like to see more protests at the college level. The NFL has turned me off the last few years because it sucks. Sorry - this comment seemed so out of left field I had to say something.

I wanted to encourage anyone who hadn't watched the Iowa victory over Ohio State to check it out. It was nothing like the game the Hawkeyes stole from us last year. They destroyed Ohio State. Seriously, please go look at the highlights, if only to see the 3rd Quarter fake field goal. It was the most un-Ferentz thing I have ever seen from Iowa.
November 5th, 2017 at 3:59 PM ^
Well, Iowa doesn't play Michigan this year so Ferentz could save his one interesting game for Ohio State. Kinda like how Franklin has done the one thing that matters, beaten Michigan, so now can go back to shitting the bed.
November 5th, 2017 at 4:25 PM ^
Brian usually mentions the deal Ferentz made with Satan or some gypsy for decades of 8-4 in exchange for one awesome night game upset of a B1G/national title contender each season. Gotta say that gypsy is pretty good at holding up her end of the bargain,
Kinnick needs a nickname. I'm partial to Iowa because of my girlfriend's family , which made Saturday extra great but holy smokes is that a tough place to play.
November 5th, 2017 at 3:55 PM ^
I don't know. Iowa and MSU with the huge upsets were little more than yet another reminder we're 3/4 of the way through Harbaugh's third season and Michigan still doesn't have that signature win.

So...not having an opportunity next week to get something we've been failing to get for over two years means those two years didn't exist and so there's no point in even thinking about them?

Any Saturday when UM plays above expectations and Ohio State gets humiliated makes for a wonderful weekend.
