...of a mans character is how he acts after something terrible has happened. Whether it's sending a note to a grieving mother or taking full responsibility for the effects of his poor performance. On this measure John O'Korn stands tall.

Continually impressed with him!!!   Most of his life was always going to be spent off the field and if his recent actions are any indication he will be very successful.  A Michigan Man at his best.  I am grateful to have had a man like that represent Michigan.  We could use more.

Thank you O'Korn!  Continue being the man you are becoming!

I've been wanting to write you for some time now. I've had a hard time formulating all of my thoughts, but more than anything I just want to thank you. Thank you for walking with so much strength and courage through a season I couldn't ever imagine going through myself. The faith you and your family have shown over the past few months has been such an encouragement to me as a believer and has touched more lives than you'll ever know. Just from watching from afar, I hope that one day I can be the type of parent that you and Jason are. I'm so encouraged by Chad's life - your "oopsie" child - it was the furthest thing from an accident. He lived such a full life and continues to inspire people and change the world every day. For that, I am so grateful.

The real travesty is that he was not put in a position to succeed.  The unfortunate injuries this season and the lack of development to just feel confident in this offense is what is sad.  Sorry to see him put in a position that was too big for him.  Still a good person.

As someone who fucking hates losing to Ohio State at anything - especially after this century...

I'd rather lose the next ten trillion games to Ohio State with John O'Korn on my team then witness us win ten trillion national championships with the caveat that I have to switch bodies, minds and lives with any of the shitheel mouthbreathers that crapped on him last Saturday.

Good man indeed. Every program needs high character guys like him. Rather have him than a 5 Star Terrell Pryor talking about how “everyone murders” n shit.....

Yes, we are all diehard Wolverines and want to beat the freakin bucknuts more than anything.  But at the end of the day, it's a game and it's being played by young men.  Do I think John O'Korn was a good QB?  No.  Does it matter?  Of course not.  But I harbor no ill will towards him.  He's a college student!

But I am glad that we can be left with something way more important about this young man.  Big heart and good person.  He will do great things in life.  Character matters.

But John has shown he is a better person than I was at his age. I cringe at the crude and uncalled for attacks on him. Thank you for reminding us there is more to life than a final score.

My approach to social media is that I'm only going to post something I'd be willing to say to the person's face.  It was rough seeing a bunch of people use anonymity to trash the guy, and the more I read about him the more I hope he succeeds whereever he lands.

No one has ever questioned JOK’s character, which is clearly stellar and irrefutable. No question John is a Michigan man, and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Great young man, his work with Team Impact, friendship with LPJ and this amazing letter. So mature. I too hopes he gets to bounce back in the bowl game. And have no doubt he'll have great success off the field in the future. Go Blue!

People need to look at the time commitment some of these young men put into things like this even given a tremendous level of constraint.  JOK has classes, homework, football practice, workouts, etc.  He still finds time to visit Mott Childrens Hospital, befriend kids like LPJr, and be a class act and role model.  My biggest hope for him is that he is so busy he doesn't have time to read message boards or newspaper comment sections.  Thanks, John.

am ashamed of some of my reactions during the OSU game upon learning more about John O'Korn. He is a class act and a fine young man. Plays on the football field are fleeting in the grand scheme of life. He has things in perspective which is very rare for someone his age. Good luck to this young man in whatever he chooses for his life.

Felt like he gave it his all with what he was asked to do this year.

Say what you want about the results on the field (and judging by what transpired on this board this weekend much was said) but I'll take a kid with that character on my team all day every day.

and I hope people realize that life is much bigger then football. The kid did his best and from all the arm chair QB's out there take a step back and relax and be thankful for what you have in your life and hopefully learn from this young man.
