CFP Tickets Secured Posbang!
I was just notified today that I was chosen to buy up to 4 College Football Playoff Championship Game tickets at face value. Spent $1,825 on 4 tickets and hoping to only sell 2 of them when our Wolverines make the Championship Game.
If we don't make it, I'm sure these babies will sell for $1,000 each and make the agony of defeat a little less harsh. Make it rain!!
EDIT: Alright let's do a neg-bang then!

The Alumni Association generally makes tickets available for bowl games. It might be a different situation with regard to the Playoff, but it's possible the Assocation might be selling some Bowl Tour packages.

Damn, $500 each? I hope they're on the 50-yard line.

Now that the OP is responsible for any jinx to the team, any opinions on the credited strategy to attending the B1G Championship Game? I realize most of us do not have any direct experience with this b/c Michigan has never participated in that game.
I am an Alumni Association member but I have never been able to get tickets through them successfully. It appears that tickets went on sale on July 30 for the Championship Game and only single tickets remain. Tickets on StubHub are exorbitantly priced but I also don't want to fly in and look for scalpers.
I would love to take my daughter to the game. As others have mentioned, the 1 week turnaround for the game makes planning tricky. I have been to two Rose Bowls (both traumatic experiences - Vince Young scrambling to the right; Reggie Bush running everywhere on our defense), but there are many weeks leading up to the Rose Bowl Game, which makes booking hotel, flight, and tickets much easier.

Not to be a debbie downer, but tix were being sold outside of the stadium last year for under $100.. Not 50-yard line tix, but lower bowl. I live in Tampa and will be going, but I'll be waiting to buy tickets until a week or so before the game.

The market for the CFP championship game will probably be less than the semifinals on NYE or possibly even Michigan-Ohio State.
The Championship Game is on Monday, Jan 9th. The market is already going to be narrowed by the fact it is on a weekday a little over a week after the winter holidays. Not many people will be able to get that time off (have to take at least Monday and possibly half of Tuesday off). If Michigan were to make that game, it may give the market a little boost, but I doubt it will reach Super Bowl levels like the OP is anticipating. Quite honestly, I think the OP is going to take a loss if he is planning on reselling them.

Like the poster a few up said - prices went down significantly last year at the end and it was a pretty strong match-up. I'm happy for the OP he has his tickets (there is something to be said for security) but the truth of it is he prolly overpaid by a factor of two. Those prices are going to go WAY down I'm afraid.

When the game ends up being Washington vs Texas A&M.... there will be twelve broke people wanting tickets. Been there.
