Also forgot to mention Josh Heupel who's killing it at UCF right now.
September 21st, 2019 at 2:53 PM ^
I think the jury's still out on whether or not UCF is one of those programs that's activated the flywheel and kind of coaches itself right now, kind of like a Boise. Scott Frost hasn't been great at Nebraska so far.

Venables

0 chance Michigan hires a first year OC to take over the program.

1) Do we HAVE to wait until the end of the season? I mean...
2) If I’m choosing between these four, it’s probably Venables.

Leach is a rambling ass clown. He'd be perfect.
September 21st, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
Who is Norvell?
September 21st, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
I want Venables, but he’s not going anywhere yet. So I would go with someone young that the kids want to play for. Pay for high end coordinators to support him. I don’t know who that person is, but he’s out there somewhere.
September 21st, 2019 at 2:54 PM ^
He's 48 years old. It's now or never to get into coaching given how many years it takes to build a program.
September 21st, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
Venables isn't going anywhere.
September 21st, 2019 at 2:52 PM ^
Leachseems to lose a lot of big games, too... I'll throw my vote in for Bronco Mendenhall, UVA's current coach.
Not sure Venables would get a serious look here after the baggage with Rashan Gary's recruitment.

Leech. as long as he teaches a class on Insurgent Warfare at Ross.

Josh Heupel
Chris Kleiman

Of those I'd want Norvell.
September 21st, 2019 at 2:59 PM ^
None of them are solutions. Stupid thread.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
Agreed. Every time we dramatically change course, we get dramatically worse as a program and this “speed in space” Josh Gattis experiment is just the latest iteration of that.
September 21st, 2019 at 3:06 PM ^
Chris Kleiman at KSU.

Hire Stephon Hillenburg’s ghost!!!!!!
September 21st, 2019 at 3:13 PM ^
I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but major coaching and philosophical changes are killing this program.

Venables all day. Campbell 2
September 21st, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Mike Gundy ... in the (potential but unlikely) situation the job is open in a few months.
Others ... Mike Leach, Jeff Brohm, Chris Klieman, or an OC from Oklahoma or another top offensive program.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Norvell. Elite offense.
September 21st, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
Leach would at least be entertaining
September 21st, 2019 at 5:09 PM ^
Bob Stoops - he's returning to coach XFL team in Dallas next year - why not give him a Brinks truck. At least he beat his biggest rival 11 times.
September 21st, 2019 at 5:13 PM ^
I’d take Mike Leach all day everyday.
