Casey Thompson likely out on Saturday
According to local news reports, Husker QB Casey Thompson is listed as questionable vs. the good guys this weekend. He has nerve damage in his elbow which hinders his ability to grip the football.
If Thompson is unavailable, Nebraska will start either Chubba Purdy or Logan Smothers, who combined to complete a whopping 11 passes against the Golden Gophers in Nebraska’s 20-13 loss.

Sounds like Denard's injury

What I was thinking - ulnar nerve. Hope not for the kid, he had some promise to his game. Hope he's able to fully recover.

Whoever lines up at QB for them is in for a rough afternoon.
Go Blue 🏈🏈🏈
Beat dem cornhuskers 💪

This is going to be a slaughter. Triple digit run D on one side, no QB on the other.
I think Michigan might shake off the 'slow first half' pattern this week. UConn Pt Deux

I hope Tariq gets NIL up the wazoo because I can't think of Nebraska or Iowa without turning this on ... hopefully NE finds a groove that brings them back to their glory days. I don't see a path, but I didn't see most of the life-changers of the last five years either. TikTok is one of those things.
NFT worth investing in for the foreseeable future! Certainly not Cornhusker CFB futures.

Didn't we have a QB in 2012 who had nerve damage in his elbow that hindered his ability to grip the football against Nebraska?
Losing that game because of that injury I would argue cost us an opportunity to play in the Big Ten championship game.

Umm, yeah, some schmuck by the name of Denard Robinson. You remember him, right? Only one of the most electric QB's Michigan has ever had!
That was an Ulnar nerve injury in his right arm. Couldn't grip the ball the same ever again...

To this day I have no idea why the hell we didn't have Devin ready (even as a 3rd string QB) to go in that game.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:14 PM ^
Remember how that game started? Denard led them right down the field on the opening drive and we got a touchdown. The previous season, Denard tore through Nebraska’s defense at the big house both running and passing in a blowout win. He was just continuing where he left off.
Now up 7-0, he’s injured and Bellomy has to come in. Merry early Christmas, Nebraska.

A starting QB in a Michigan-Nebraska game has nerve damage in his elbow that inhibits his ability to grip the ball? Oh how the turn tables.
November 9th, 2022 at 11:42 AM ^
Remember when that happened to Denard?
November 9th, 2022 at 11:43 AM ^
That sucks for the young man. It sounds a little like the issue Denard faced, and that really tanked his career. Hopefully the medical people are able to fix this and it isn’t a permanent thing.
EDIT: Like the poster above me just said. . .

Michigan will score points Nebraska will not. I take Michigan 55-7

Tough break - but they aren't going to stop us on D, even if they had their offense going decently.
I just want a rout that allows our backups to take the field late in the 3rd. Get ready for Illinois, which has a good D and excellent RB.
The best I'm hoping from JJ is hitting a long bomb off of PA Pass. He had Anthony so wide open - that kind of hit on a bomb would at least make Illinois and Ohio respect the deep pass. Hopefully, Roman is back as he has been a big threat at times (Iowa last year, etc.).

It will still be a 1 point game at halftime.
November 9th, 2022 at 12:29 PM ^
They're still gonna outpuke us.

Rest mazi please

All I care about is Scott Frost schadenfreude. Even without his direct participation, I need these things.
Beat the Huskers!

Hard to get Scottenfreude with him fired. Spartanfreude if Rutgers wins is all we’ve got.
November 9th, 2022 at 4:42 PM ^
Ugh. Double post.
November 9th, 2022 at 4:42 PM ^
Triple post?!!?!?!?! Come on!

Dear Michigan coaches and players,
Do not fall for the banana in the tail pipe. Prepare for all 3 QBs.
November 9th, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
I've dealth with nerve damage in my elbows on and off over the years. It's awful. I feel really bad for the kid. Hopefully he gets well soon!
November 9th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
Perchance, might Scott Frost still have some remaining eligibility?
If so, perhaps he could suit up and play QB for the Huskers. I'd enjoy that matchup - and, it might add meaning to being "outhit".
I miss Scott Frost...
November 9th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
Hey it's still a BIG game against Nebraska. Get out there look clean and crisp, take care of business and stay healthy.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
With Thompson out, Frost gone, and their inability to outhit us, then not even Scott's mom can spin this into a win.
November 9th, 2022 at 2:41 PM ^
Michigan will be working on the deep ball. This one could get ugly.
November 9th, 2022 at 4:38 PM ^
I'm still expecting this to be something akin to 21-13 Michigan at the half, and then 56-16 by the end.
I do hope we see McCarthy start connecting on a couple of deep balls this weekend. Those are throws he's going to need to complete in 2.5 weeks. And in fairness to him, those are balls his receivers are going to need to catch.
November 9th, 2022 at 5:35 PM ^
Denard says: "Hi."
And also: "Fuck You, Nebraska."
November 9th, 2022 at 5:44 PM ^
It will be interesting to see Minter unleash the "Chubba Chaser" package.
November 9th, 2022 at 6:31 PM ^
This game sure would be a lot more entertaining if Scott Frost was still their head coach.
November 9th, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
Chubba Purdy, Logan Smothers? Those sound like AI-generated names.
November 9th, 2022 at 9:10 PM ^
this is going to be such a bloodbath.
I'm afraid Michigan is going to come out of this looking like the bad guys.
is there a way to politely score 70 points?
November 10th, 2022 at 12:51 PM ^
Sounds like he is officially out
