Cade is Instagram Official to Iowa

I agree-you nailed it. I do not see this being a good fit for anyone. In fact, I see this as a very bad fit.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
Hopefully Cade's deal also makes him the offensive coordinator.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
I genuinely don't understand why he'd want to go play for Brian Ferentz. He is just not a good coordinator.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:56 PM ^
Scuttle but is changes are coming to the staff…but Twitter says lots of things so…
December 1st, 2022 at 10:50 PM ^
Even if that's true, who are the weapons? Aren't LaPorta and Ragaini both gone? Lachey was the only other player with over 200 yards receiving this season.
I wish Cade well, but wish he could've gone somewhere without a putrid offense.
December 2nd, 2022 at 12:00 AM ^
And the one pretty good wide receiver Iowa had, Keagan Johnson, is also entering the portal after sitting out most this season due to injury.

built-in excuse
December 1st, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
Happy to root for Cade wherever he goes, and it is obvious Iowa could use a qb like him, but I guess I don’t get this decision. Iowa is still going to paper thin on offense next year in terms of his supporting cast and it seems like while Iowa will alway be a contender for the B1G west, there must be better teams and coordinators he could help? Well what’s done is done. Best of luck to him and I hope they get him a RB, offensive line and some WRs STAT.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
Now that Iowa has Cade, the offense is only 1 RB, 5 OLs, 3 WRs, and a new OC away from being competent.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:24 PM ^
Their freshman RB Kaleb Johnson will be a great one, already very good. WR is rough business. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple M players follow him for more PT.
December 1st, 2022 at 10:15 PM ^
I’m sorry … what???
December 1st, 2022 at 10:00 PM ^
Looking at their schedule, if they have another D like this year’s they shouldn’t finish below 10-2.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
Our thanks to them for Jake Rudock
December 1st, 2022 at 9:03 PM ^
Player to named later for Jake Rudock and Mary Sue Coleman.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:27 PM ^
I would absolutely be a Mary Sue if I were transported into the position and that situation.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:58 PM ^
that's cole, man

edit - missed it by that much

they aren’t on the schedule next year sooo GL CADE!
December 1st, 2022 at 9:08 PM ^
Maybe they will be by next December... ;)
December 1st, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
Iowa gave Michigan Jake Rudock. Michigan gives Iowa Cade McNamara. I guess that makes us even.
Best of luck, Cade! Hope to see you in Indy next year!
December 1st, 2022 at 8:40 PM ^
It's implied from some of the posts, but we don't face Iowa next year. Good - I don't want to root against Cade.

Everybody's second favorite big ten team!
December 1st, 2022 at 8:40 PM ^
So is he still our team captain? Lol
December 1st, 2022 at 8:55 PM ^
I know this is apparently a question we can’t ask around here, but… that’s now a really good question.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
What’s not to like about hogs, corn and Iowa
December 1st, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
Cade is the best QB that Iowa has had since, uh, C.J. Beathard? Jake Rudock? Immediate upgrade for the Hawkeyes for sure.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:26 PM ^
Chuck Long says hi!
December 1st, 2022 at 9:30 PM ^
Nate Stanley actually threw 52 touchdowns combined in 2017 and 2018. His accuracy was suspect but 26 TDs at Iowa is like 40 most other places.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
Seems like a bad decision on the surface given Iowa's Dumpster fire offense. Maybe he knows something we don't. But I hope he does well in every game except against Michigan
December 1st, 2022 at 9:30 PM ^
Of every option to jump in and start, this seems like an odd destination. However. He is a "game manager." Establish rhythm and consistency. Score 20 points and they win 9 games.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
I hope you fix Brian Ferentz more than he damages you, and that we get a crack at you in the B10 championship game next year.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:47 PM ^
Not a snark question, but since he played in 3 games this year, does he get a B1G championship ring?
December 1st, 2022 at 9:07 PM ^
Absolutely!
December 1st, 2022 at 9:19 PM ^
December 1st, 2022 at 10:40 PM ^
Michigan has to win it first.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:48 PM ^
How many years eligibility does he still have? Two? Especially if he medical’s this year?
December 1st, 2022 at 8:59 PM ^
Two. He can’t just “medical this year” (also, no apostrophe). In order to get a seventh year of eligibility, he’d have to be able to prove that his original redshirt, in 2019, was also injury-related.
Cade thinks he has NFL potential. I doubt he wants three years of Brian Ferentz. I’m surprised he wanted one.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:48 PM ^
Happy for Cade, but I feel like as a Captain, he could have at least waited until after the season to announce this.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:52 PM ^
Ice in his veins!
December 1st, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
May mildly help recruiting now though.
Plus he may be seen around those parts and better he breaks it than someone else.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:49 PM ^
Been saying since August Cade would be perfect for Wisconsin or Iowa. As bad as Iowa was this year, I think his two years (maybe 3 given his injury this year) there might be really good.
do we know if he walks here? I gotta think with three years and three summers he got his degree
December 1st, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
Could have done worse than that. I think he will fit well there.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
Happy for him but very sorry to see him go. Iowa is getting a great competitor and leader.
December 1st, 2022 at 9:28 PM ^
Very well said and my thoughts exactly. Will always root for Cade except when he is playing Michigan. Will always wish him well.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:52 PM ^
So can we finally give Old Oluwatimi his rightful spot as Captain
December 1st, 2022 at 8:58 PM ^
Good for him. I think he'll be good at Iowa and if he isn't then that's gotta be the bit of evidence in the "Brian Ferentz is an idiot who only has a job because of his dad" discussion.
December 1st, 2022 at 8:59 PM ^
Farewell oh captain our captain. See you in the B1G Championship game.
