Business as usual ONWARD

Submitted by GhostofJermain… on February 3rd, 2022 at 7:43 AM

Got into the building early this morning and man the HYPE is real!

MW may have been the reason this whole charade happened.. I was told last night he really wanted JH to interview and wanted his boy KA-M to have an opportunity to show JH his methods and thought processes.

Literally everyone is elated to have JH back and for good!

Chris Balas is, and always has been a CLOWN! On3 needs to Move off CB ASAP!

JY, CB, BE, and NB are just a few circus acts that need a new gig.

CP could be an interesting fit as DC.  I know AK would love to have him back in the saddle, but he does have a very young family and I'm not sure he wants to move back to AA and uproot the fam again.  However sounds like it's option 2 or 3 as of this minute.

LF may have multiple NFL offers to mull over, but I believe they are hoping he considers coming home.

Some deck chairs may be moving around in the coaches room, as early as tomorrow.

Keep your receipts, and stay classy MGOBLOG

Cheers

Logged in to say fuck Chris Balas.  We need a reporter tracker, so we can understand who is actually reputable.  Everyone on here was saying he was and clearly he is not.

He and Sam Webb were both guilty of moving from reportable information to reporting their own guesses, in lieu of not having anything new to say.

From the get go, JH said he would entertain offers.  He did just that and in the end decided that staying was his best option.   Remember the press conference after the CFP semi final, he said it felt like a beginning.

The tornado of bullshit takes from people jumping to conclusions, flying off the handle and speculating with no credible information was staggering.

We should all know by now that when it comes to JH, no-one knows anything. He is a huge weirdo that doesn't speak to anyone but family about this stuff. If he wants you to know it, he will tell you. If he doesn't (he doesn't), no reporter, insider, writer, etc. has anything other than a guess.

Ghost,

I don't know who you are (and this post will probably be in the back so you might not see it) but I appreciate your tidbit of information every now and then. Keep up the great work!

I love GhostofJermaine's insider tidbits.  The initials are no longer annoying to me.  I love reading the comments to see the funny quips.  AK = Alaska is perfect.  But I do wish GoJ would at least come back to his own posts one time and respond to these questions.  He drops an info dump and then doesn't come back until the next dump.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause of the leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

Reminds me of the Three Stooges, Moe: T.H. I wonder what that means. Shemp: Teddy Hoosevelt? Moe: You're wrong, quiz kid. Larry: T.H. T.H. I got it! I got it! Moe: What? Larry: Thomas Hedison! Moe: Why don't you dumbells stop?

"MW may have been the reason this whole charade happened.. I was told last night he really wanted JH to interview and wanted his boy KA-M to have an opportunity to show JH his methods and thought processes."

I'm intrigued by this piece of it, and by the possibility that--although some genuine interest may have underlain the conversations--Jim might have been helping a pretty forward-thinking new GM, and by extension the Wilfs, to work through their plan of action with a smart and knowledgeable interlocutor. I'd take the Wilfs over Ross every day of the week, wish them only the best.

Jim with a mischievous twinkle as he played his way through is fun to consider, too. While he had a good hand here, he has played it, and played a few fools in the process. More power to him, and to us. Many of the people rejoicing at the moment will be back to complaining bitterly shortly--it's not hard to imagine complaints about Jim's endless security of tenure arising with every hardship that arises. But stability, which we now may really have, can be a very, very good thing. Viz. Saban.

You don't put your entire program and legacy in jeopardy because you get a "mischievous twinkle" in your eye or because so-and-so wants to show you his thought processes. You sure as hell don't need a formal interview to accomplish that.

Jim Harbaugh had a serious, demonstrated interest in getting back to the NFL and he took his swings. Regardless of who said no to whom yesterday, the notion that this was a "charade" is utterly silly.

GOJG tidibts about Weiss and Kwesi A-M would have had a little more credibility if he had revealed that relationship before Seth reported it two days ago.

As is noted on the front page, we knew about that relationship before two days ago. And interest--yes. But that never precluded Jim from making his decision with all info/possibilities before him; he did. And nothing would have prevented him from going on that interview with both an eye to a possible job and helping Kwesi A-M through a candid assessment of his aims. One hardly precludes the other.

Jim put nothing in jeopardy. This part is cockamamy BS by hysterics. Jim owed you zip; he owed himself and his family a careful assessment of his prospects.

You'll have to show me where that was reported before Seth's "Shadow" post. The rest of the Michigan and national media is still reporting the connection between KAM and Harbaugh was the time they overlapped in SF.

I've been Jim staunchest defender on here for the past month. I thought (and still do) that he was perfectly entitled to seek out his NFL opportunities and that condemning him for that was nonsense. Not sure where you're getting from my post that I think he owes anything to anyone.

You don't fly in snowstorm on signing day to give someone "a candid assessment of their aims." That's something you do over coffee since you'll be there anyway interviewing for a job. It's not what gets you on the plane.

Read the Roundtable; Seth learned it from a post to the board. The last graph is your opinion. Yes, I was speculating, but an invitation to come and see about possible interest and 'Hey, I would love to walk you through the process and hear your take,' from the fourth-winningest NFL coach is absolutely possible. We may be talking about differences in degree--Jim may well have been intrigued. And I nowhere asserted that my take was more than conjecture. But the idea that Jim did some damage by taking his time is what I objected to, and . . . what I said it was.

Yeah, that sourcing is a little fuzzy re: the post on the board* (though it's kinda cool that this is MGoBlog info that no one else in the Michigan or national media figured out) but the point about GOJG is that his Weiss allegation would have had more teeth if he was putting it out there when it was an unknown relationship (which it was a few days ago). At this point, I think he's just riffing off what he reads on MGoBlog.

That JH's very real NFL interest was driving this process from day one (I never blamed him one bit for that) and that this was not a "charade" are my main points here . GOJG is way off base. That JH took his time (what choice did he have if there were no offers on the table?) was fine by me because his interest was real, but the the tumult it was causing would have been an atrocious thing to do if he knew he was returning all along. He never would have done that to the University or the fanbase but for legit interest.

EDIT: just listened to WTKA roundtable, what Seth is saying is that he received a tip from a user on the Board, not that it was published on the board prior to his article on Feb 1, FWIW. Still, cool that this was an MGoBlog "exclusive" that not even Webb had :)

John U Bacon is being interviewed about Harbaugh's decision right now on BTN on "The B1G Show". The Bacon conversation will be shown again at 2 pm and 5 pm at the beginning of that show.

Pretty much everyone had this wrong. Almost everyone has looked like a clickbait prostibulo during this process. John's has clearly proven to be a somewhat distant and speculative take. Personally, I am much more interested now in how the new team and staff are being put together.

GoJ is an MGoBoard treasure and we are lucky to have him. I routinely search by name to see if he’s posted recently and, when I see a new post, I get excited for (1) good insider info, (2) getting to play the game where I see if I can decipher the initials myself, and (3) getting to laugh at the posters who get butthurt over the use of initials. Thank you GoJ you magnificent bastard, and please never change.

Cool. So now can all of the fuckers who just wouldn't stop rending garments, creating elaborate stories about what would certainly happen step up and admit they should just remain silent most of the time? Because they should.

It's the same kind of shit on repeat, day after day, year after year. Just wait until the next "thing" comes up, and they're all fucking Nostradamus again...
