That Ref is huge. Bigger than Juwan.

THERE YOU GO YOUNG FELLA!!!!
November 10th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
Caleb has a sweet shot. Almost criminal
November 10th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
Twill earned his scholarship for the Buffalo and Oakland game alone!
November 10th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
Houstan - Nice shot young fella!
November 10th, 2021 at 8:36 PM ^
Im loving Twill if it isnt obvious. So much good stuff from him.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:37 PM ^
In total agreement with you. Williams is a key piece.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:36 PM ^
T H R E E from the Houstan suburbs!

After the air ball I was like "wtf" but after that short stroke, quick release money ball I'm like "hot damn".

Number 11 will score 9 against a disinterested Akron later this year. Lol
November 10th, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
Say Goo, say me, say it together naturally.
Say adios to these kids. Good luck to the first real team that plays them in the tourney.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:41 PM ^
If these refs did a regular season big ten game, both teams would foul out.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:41 PM ^
I don’t think these refs want to go home
November 10th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Good game. Good learning experience. This team played a very good Buffalo team that will be in the Big Dance when all is said and done.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Sooo many whistles!
November 10th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Quick thought, since I'm sure you guys have all covered it.
Williams looks like he's taken a HUGE step forward.
And there's only one reason why:
The long-sleeve undershirt. The Manny Harris special.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
There is your Brown replacement!?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:46 PM ^
I don't think Terrence will be as good of a three-point shooter as CB, but it looks like he might have a better all-around game.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
12 missed free throws? WTF?!?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:45 PM ^
Yeah lots of in and out shots. These guys are good shooters just a funky game.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
They shot 66% against Wayne State
November 10th, 2021 at 8:48 PM ^
add in the fact that a good portion of those are front end one and ones, and you can see why Buffalo was close in the first half despite seemingly being run over.
I think last year we were spoiled a little with smith, Livers and Wagner all really strong FT shooters... Michigan has to clean the up going forward. Especially Hunter (who was pretty good last year iirc) and Jones.
All in all, it was a good game over a team that is experienced and will probably end up being a Quad 1 or 2 win I would think...
Closer than I had hoped, but hopefully its a great learning experience
November 10th, 2021 at 8:52 PM ^
Hunter was 74% last year. Some room to improve.
FTs for 4 hours tomorrow. Until their arms fall off.
November 10th, 2021 at 11:40 PM ^
Merely flesh wounds?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
Some officials just ruin it for the rest of them. I try so hard to be understanding of their tough job.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:48 PM ^
The one thing i have issue with is the block charge. If the defender is trying to sneak in while you are stuck in momentum give it to the offensive player. Call the obvious and give the rest to the offense. It will be a much better game and defenses will stop playing defense with their legs and start playing the ball.

The young kids are going to get better with every game and minute played. The Michigan program is in good hands and the future bright. The present ain’t half bad either.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
Disjointed play. Sloppy basketball. Probably Howard searching for lineups/guys learning to play together against a solid team explains some of this 2nd half. It will smoothen out over a few games.
Also, really bad officiating doing nobody any favors.

Remind me of this experience when it's bracket time. That is going to be an incredibly annoying 12 seed.
Impressions: Diabate and Houston are the two best athletes we've had in a while. Williams clearly much better and I liked him in his limited role last year. Point guard I'm not sure of. Brooks/Dickinson are obviously known quantities. Johns remains an x factor.
Also known quantities: Boroski makes me long for TV Teddy.

Nice to have lessons to learn in a W. Nice to play 10 guys. Maybe cleared the bench too soon in the first half and allowed Buffalo some momentum. They're a good squad.
Win and advance.

Buffalo is legit. I could see them as an 11 or 12 seed that makes a run to the S16. That Williams dude looks like he has NBA written all over him.
They sprint the floor like crazy and work their bleeps off. If they don't win the MAC, I'd be stunned.
For a first game, I thought Michigan played pretty damn well. I've seen first games where they barely get past an inferior opponent. Even though the lead got trimmed down to 5, it never felt like serious jeopardy they would let it slip.
Left a lot of points at the line, which is stuff that generally will work out. They won't shoot 60 percent from the line as a team on the season, considering they've always been a pretty decent team at the line.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:59 PM ^
Outside of T-Will our wing defenders gave up too many straight line drives to the basket.
