Buffalo at Michigan - GAME THREAD

TW II nice fade!
November 10th, 2021 at 8:15 PM ^
I think buffalo would be a top half big ten team. Top ten at least.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:16 PM ^
Man, can they hit those fallaway shots.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:16 PM ^
Switching every ball screen has created a lot of mismatches that has favored Buffalo. Taking advantage of the weaker perimeter defenders that Michigan has out there.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
I thought you said Michigan was contesting every shot though?
November 11th, 2021 at 12:48 AM ^
So you first claimed that Michigan was just giving up wide open threes and was merely lucky Buffalo missed a bunch. I responded that Buffalo was in fact missing so many threes because Michigan was closing out hard on shooters and making the attempts a very high degree of difficulty. And I never claimed that Michigan contested every shot, I said that their defense was a reason why Buffalo missed so many threes. Buffalo’s players did miss open looks too, but they took plenty of heavily-contested and off-balance threes in the first half.
In the second half, Buffalo changed their plan of attack, they attempted fewer threes and started utilizing more ball screen actions to create mismatches on the perimeter where their players would be able to get into the lane with ease. Buffalo’s two main players, J. Williams and Segu, were able to use their athleticism against mismatches on the perimeter and score near the basket or in the mid-range.
It was a nice attempt at a “gotcha”, but your first point was not accurate about the state of the game and your response here is not honest about what Michigan’s defensive flaws were in the second half.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:18 PM ^
welp... the team looks out of sorts in the second half. As good as they looked in the first half, they have looked not so good in this half
Buffalo is really playing well and Michigan, well, isn't right now
Need to settle down...i'd keep feeding Hunter at this point if he is on point.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:19 PM ^
Stick a camera up #22 from Buffalos ass already
November 10th, 2021 at 8:19 PM ^
Double techs are idiotic. It incentives the shitty player to instigate
November 10th, 2021 at 8:19 PM ^
What a horrible shit call
Fucking punk ass officials. Nothing changes.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:20 PM ^
That's a horse shit call too
November 10th, 2021 at 8:20 PM ^
A lot of new parts in the old basketball machine this year. It'll take a couple of games to figure out what offensive sets, and what lineups are most productive. The talent is definitely there. They just need some time on the court together.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:20 PM ^
Horrible, horrible call. Dude is sliding under Dickinson obviously.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:20 PM ^
Man that ref basically couldn’t decide whether to call a charger or block and decided to call a charge just because.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
Fucking player goes up for a shot and a defender swoops underneath him. In what world is that in the spirit of the sport. So damn stupid. Official had no clue where he was, making that call.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
Terence Williams is damn efficient. Honestly could he sneak into the starting line up eventually?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
What the fuck?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
Fucking ref show
November 10th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
I'm confused how everything is a double technical. Dickinson is the one who got shoved off.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
That is a weak charge call.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:23 PM ^
Buffalo is on fire. Totally different team after the half.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:23 PM ^
Lots of missed FTs tonight. Something that really needs to be cleaned up.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:24 PM ^
All the line-up changes the O has no flow.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:24 PM ^
Shooting seems like a big issue, they can't really get any open looks. Also they can't guard anyone off the dribble which is suprising.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:25 PM ^
This officiating crew should be stripped naked in public and beaten with wet spaghetti
November 10th, 2021 at 8:25 PM ^

November 10th, 2021 at 8:26 PM ^
Goodness the free throws
November 10th, 2021 at 8:26 PM ^
Guards brutal at free throws. C'mon. Focus and repetition
November 10th, 2021 at 8:26 PM ^
Free throws refuse to fall in all night.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:27 PM ^
TWILL HAS A 3!?!?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:27 PM ^
14-24 FT’s ain’t gonna cut it
November 10th, 2021 at 8:27 PM ^
Terrance Williams coming into his own. He’s quietly been the second best player tonight.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:27 PM ^
that was a big shot by Williams.
Michigan needs people to step up here as Buffalo isn't going away
November 10th, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
They have to find out who will be able to score from the perimeter. We're forcing the ball inside and it hasn't been effective in the 2nd half. Maybe William's will develop into our go-to perimeter scorer.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
Free throws continue to be an issue for the program but they can improve there. Seems like we got a little sloppy when we built that big lead in the first half.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:29 PM ^
Up 21 gotta have a killer, closer instinct. I think some of that is youth. Some of that is playing one of the oldest teams in the country. Buffalo looks like a round 1 upset special.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:30 PM ^
Twill is a Junkyard Livers?
November 10th, 2021 at 8:30 PM ^
That free throw camera angle is awful.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:30 PM ^
Can't miss 10 FTs while they only miss 1.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:31 PM ^
Not to mention the front end
November 10th, 2021 at 8:30 PM ^
Face hit!! Isn't that reviewable??? Or is that the nba
November 10th, 2021 at 8:32 PM ^
It’s been a rough 2nd half, but this team has managed to keep Buffalo at arm’s length. They’ve answered the bell in some high pressure moments tonight.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:33 PM ^
One game only, but TWill has taken Johns minutes this second half. His energy is hard to deny. With the pace this team seems to play at, TWill probably matches that better.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:33 PM ^
Young team quirks. Will be curious to see how Zeb does.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:33 PM ^
This has been a total ref show. Let them play the damn game. They're calling every tiny bit of contact and are all over the place with the whistle.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:33 PM ^
Definitely a first game of the year vibe from the team. You can see the potential but you can see the issues that everyone has talked about over the offseason.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:34 PM ^
Houstan lost some flow in the offense and went cold. Didn't see him able to create. Then the air ball. Needs to settle. Lots to work on but a lot to like. Now finish the game strong
November 10th, 2021 at 8:37 PM ^
Houstan looks like a great creator so far. They even had him run point at one point.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:34 PM ^
We still don't have the great shooter that we can go to when everything dries up. Hope Houston can get there.
November 10th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
i'll take credit for that 3
