Brian Smith likely to be Michigan DB coach per Sam Webb
Chip Viney & Aubrey Pleasant interviewed for U-M's vacant DB post, but hot name I'm hearing is former Philadelphia Eagles asst Brian Smith
Smith played for and then coached under Don Brown at UMASS.
Brian Smith most recently was an assistant LB coach for the Eagles, but he also previously was an assistant DB coach for the Jets. I believe that Michigan DC Don Brown was Brian Smith's DC when he was a player at UMass.
There's more information on the Scout board, but Sam seems to think that this is the guy barring something crazy happening.

Like Partridge, a year or 2 down the road. That would have put Don Brown in the position during the interim. This hire would seem to block Bush's eventual path to a spot on the coaching staff.
Also, does Don Brown have a set position spot or will he freelance several positions as an advisor?
