Zero turns are great for…

Zero turns are great for speed but not very versatile. I keep about 5.5 acres of our property cut with a JD 1023 subcompact and 60” deck. It’s not the fastest mow but it cuts really nice. The versatility of the machine more than makes up for the slightly slower mowing. The front end loader is priceless. I have a rear blade for it that I use for snow removal on our drive. It runs a 4’ tiller for our garden with ease. I can drag logs out of the woods with it and it will haul my 16’ utility trailer loaded with firewood and brush with no trouble. Try hauling a loaded trailer that size with a zero turn. Your transmission will just cry tears of sorrow.

Insert a dull butter knife

Insert a dull butter knife under the membrane and along one of the bones to start prying it up. Grab with paper towels to maintain your grip. In my experience it is very easy to remove on fresh pork. If it is difficult to remove you may have an older chunk of meat.

Josh should quit drinking and go to bed. I think that OSU will be fine without him.

Did anyone read the lips of

Did anyone read the lips of the cannon attendant when Peppers scored the short touchdown? It looked like he was yelling "fuck you."

Any update on Hank Poggi and

Any update on Hank Poggi and his job description? It doesn't look like any of you slacker reporters are even trying to get to the real story of the season. Not a single Poggi question asked??? Journalism is definitely in a downward spiral!

The Mgomiller hate power

The Mgomiller hate power rankings go thusly.
1) Notre Dame - I wish they would never win another football game, or better yet their football program stopped existing altogether. This comes from going to Catholic school until 8th grade.
2) Ohio State - I hope they never win another game except when they play Notre Dame, but I don't want their program to cease existing. I live in Ohio and am surrounded by arrogant cooler poopers every day.
3) Staee - I wish they would lose every game except when playing OSU or ND. I honestly do not know a single MSU fan anymore. I have no problems with them except that I love to disrespekt them.

Pardon me if I am incorrect.

Pardon me if I am incorrect. I seem to remember quite a bit of research being done around these parts, during the Rodriguez years, about the risk of injury to running quarterbacks. As I recall there was no significant correlation between quarterback runs and injury. In fact, I thought there was a slightly significant correlation that less running may equate more injury.

Those who performed the research hypothesized that a running quarterback may be in better position to take a hit in such a way that it doesn't cause injury because they have their eyes on the large men trying to damage them. A pocket statue is not fusing on the incoming rush and therefore may be less prepared to take the hit.

I still think we start O'Korn, but not because of his risk of injury. I want him to start because, as many others have said, he will open up the playbook with his feet.

I think I have heard this

I think I have heard this before. Can't remember where.

Achiote is the best thing for

Achiote is the best thing for pork ribs period. I spray with apple cider vinegar. Then rub with achiote paste. Then spray again with vinegar and rub a second time with chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and a dash of cayenne. Smoke with split maple or white oak logs until internal temperature is 185.
I see some love for thermapen in some other comments but I vastly prefer my Comark PDT300. Definitely worth checking out.

Rule #3 is that you keep it

Rule #3 is that you keep it unloaded until "ready to use". That is different than "ready to shoot". When carrying a weapon for self-defense purposes, it should be ready to use (loaded) at all times while carrying.

I know the DePriest family

I know the DePriest family personally. It is not outside of the realm of possibility that they could have afforded that car for him.

I knew several middle class families who had kids that got sports scholarships for college. The parents then spent the college account on a new car for the kids.

What fly was he using?

What fly was he using? There's a big difference in a size 28 midge versus a 1/0 muddled minnow stuck in your neck. Good job of manning up though!

I love this grill but hate

I love this grill but hate the grates. They rusted through in about a year. I replaced them with Grill Grates and it works awesome. I don't care what kind of grill I get in the future so long as it fits the Grill Grates. They have a website you should check them out.

I figured 8 regular season wins and a loss in the bowl game. Happy to be wrong.

I had assumed that Will Carr

I had assumed that Will Carr would take over for GMatt after retirement. Have heard great things about his work as an asst.

I think you are right.

I have been married for only 5 years, but I think that this is correct.  There are responsibilities that are held by each party in the marriage.  These responsibilities were traditionally gender defined, but have become more up for negotiation in recent years.

My advice would be to be sure to define those responsibilities before getting married.  As with any other endeavor in life, a plan is needed in order to succeed.

Example: My wife is great with finances, but I am horrible with them.  I am a very good cook, my wife can only make a few dishes and cannot follow a recipe to save her life.  We agreed early on, that she would handle the finances with my consultation and I would handle the cooking with some exceptions.  It may seem a small thing, but I know that it has led to a much smoother relationship.

The Beatles sang "All you need is love."  They were wrong.  You need love, planning, respect, security, mutual interests/commonalities, communication, and so much more.

Regardless of whether Pitino

Regardless of whether Pitino knew about this, it is my understanding that he could still be hit with "lack of institutional control". Does anyone have a better or different understanding?

You should have stuck around

You should have stuck around for the post game band show. They played both, of course. The alumni cymbalists were gettin down.

I live in Ohio. I keep all my coolers locked up to avoid this type of thing. It was a tough lesson to learn.

And excited about Vicious Vic

And excited about Vicious Vic and Brandon Peters? I know exactly what you are saying. I look at all the guys Harbaugh has brought in or is bringing in and see something potentially outstanding players. I keep reigning in my excitement by remembering that not everyone works out like we hope (Mallet, Forcier, Bass, etc...).

I have seen other teams do

I have seen other teams do this but the advantage of it never fully hit me until our team did it last night. I too look forward to the wait, wait, wait, all clear, let's run. Why would anyone not punt like this? It seems like it would be the standard for teaching American punters too.

Up, down, even sideways. Take

Up, down, even sideways. Take them however you can get them.

Both Coles

Good call on Mason Cole. He may well be the next great LT from UM.

I am also excited about seeing Bryan Cole. He may just be a freshman, but if he can improve his run blocking and route running, he may become a legit down field target. His athleticism seems to be off the chart and he has great size for the position.

1998 Rose Bowl T shirt

I just threw it away 2 weeks ago or I would post a pic. The Official 1998 Rose Bowl T shirt was the ugliest piece of clothing I have ever bought. I was 21 and drunk and at the Rose Bowl and I actually purchased the POS.

It had the split block M and lots of overly colorful cluttered BS. It even had what looked like the Official Rose Bowl Logo sewn onto it.

That after a game that great I chose to not wear that ugly ass shirt once in all these years speaks volumes as to how ugly it really was. Although I definitely had an emotional attachment to that shirt that I kept it for this long.

I think that just talking about it with a group of people who would understand is very therapeutic. Thanks.

Free Brady

With a voice like that, how can anyone possibly suspend him?

I second the cooking

I have two smokers. Both are the cheap side fire box ones from Lowes but they do a very nice job. I cut trees out of fence rows for local farmers to get the wood I need and want. Then haul it and split it by hand. I have a shed to store the wood while it dries.
My favorite is brisket, but I also do the thanksgiving turkey on a smoker. Ribs, chicken, sausage, mac&cheez and almost anything else goes on the smoker when I fire it up.

I would volunteer for your study

if I was tall enough and athletic enough to be a high level center.

Already checked my mailbox twice.

It still hasn't come. Will keep checking and emailing Ace every hour until I have my HTTV.

Bruce Pearl to the rescue

I don't think he is doing much right now. It really doesn't matter though as the SEC sucks at bball except for those door lickers in KY.

Poor damn Stevie Brown

The guy was athletic as all get out but just never put it together while at UM. I really think that his coaches struggled to utilize him properly and teach him how to play. Hope he has a long and successful career in the NFL.

WWRDTT

What would RDT think about the UM camps?

Maybe we would be salty

Maybe we would be salty or maybe we wouldn't. We will probably never really know how we would feel about it as their conference prohibits them from coming up here. Ha ha!

Mariotta

I don't have any evidence to contradict what you are saying about open receivers and certainly agree that he will likely fail if taken by the Browns or another crappy team. He is, in my opinion, the best QB in this draft if you account for on the field and off the field performance.

Not really hyper spread

I highly recommend reading Chris Brown's piece on Grantland about the top four QBs in the draft. In the article Brown praises Mariotta's ability to find receivers late in the progression and claims that Oregon was running 15-30 pro-style plays per game. The article can be found at https://grantland.com/features/2015-nfl-draft-quarterback-evaluation-fo…

Winston's future team

Double post. My bad.

Winston's future team

Personally, I would be very interested to see New England take Winston. I don't think he will be around by the time they pick but that would seem to be the organization that could reign him in. Also, I think they still have Mallet behind Brady as their QB of the future.

Liberty Mutual

The Liberty Mutual commercial where the girl talks about her car named Brad is terrible and it seems like it is on during every commercial break that I catch.

For local commercials, there is a car dealership outside of Dayton, Oh called Jeff Schmitt. The owner is in all of his commercials. He makes me want to stuff him in the trunk of one of his crappy used cars and drive it into the river.

There's a tennis one too

The same drug has an annoying commercial with a fungusy toe playing tennis. John McEnroe is the announcer. The commercial is so bad that I hope Mac gets toe fungus for participating in such BS.

Tapeworms?

Tapeworms will definitely do this to him. Has to be tapeworms. Saw it on "monsters inside me".

This is the biggest rivalry for me

I grew up Catholic and attended Catholic schools. My uncle was a big time high school QB and was supposed to play for ND except for some senior year misfortunes. Almost everyone I knew as a kid were ND fans despite the fact I grew up and still live in central Ohio.

The ND game is the biggest game of the year for me. I don't have to deal with Sparties like those of you in Mich. OSU fans are easy for me to ignore and/or outwit. I love my family but they are impossible to be around when the domers win this game. They probably feel the same about my dad and I when UM wins this game.

The ND game is my chance to get bragging rights over the people that I loathe and love the most. I will truly miss this game.
