This is all over the twitters. Coach Hoke is looking like half the man he once was. Good job, Coach but photo could use more pointing.

Congrats to coach Hoke . I started a keto diet back in Mid August . I hope to lose as much if not more than Hoke did . I am down 25 pounds already . Dont miss sweets or the junk food or soda . You can eat meat on Keto and bacon is good for this diet , so that helps  A LOT .

I’m on modified Keto. I eat a lot of baked beans with my BBQ. You have to watch for added sugar in everything. Keto is awesome. Incorporate a lot of salads. Heavy whipping cream in black coffee is awesome. I no longer take naps. I feel great and drink all the mick ultra I want. It’s great. I’m a 32 waist which I was in HS. My wrestling weight in HS was 152, I can’t get down that far but have seen 159 on the scale. It’s the way to go.

Speaking as an Upper Midwestern slob, it probably helps that he's not living among a bunch of us. SoCal people are probably healthier on average than we are. Birds of a feather, etc.

I didn't even realize he was back at SDSU. Hope it works for him—he's a good man who made some unfortunate mistakes on the big stage at Michigan.

He started losing weight right after getting axed at Michigan. It became noticeable by the time he was at Tennessee. Now he looks pretty damn healthy for 61. Good for him!

Good to see Coach Hoke has slimmed down.

I've never agreed with the hostility, and lack of love & respect, he continually receives from a portion of our fan base.

He is a Michigan man, he couldn't have been more proud of being our coach, wearing the block M.  Granted he fell short of our demands, but in truth even coach Harbaugh hasn't achieved yet what we've asked for.

Brady ran a clean program, he took care of our kids, took great pride in the opportunity and he really gave it his all.  Sure he may have been in over his head, but I think that's more on Dave Brandon and us (Hokemania) for putting him in that position.  It's no small task, that's what made Bo so special.

Truth be told he wasn't what we were looking for, he was just a place filler.  Yet, in that place filler was a man of character, honor and integrity.  Give this man the love he deserves, he's always been ready to fight for the Maize n Blue without hesitation.

"Shane came off the field after the following play and was reassessed by the head athletic trainer for the ankle injury," Brandon said. "Since the athletic trainer had not seen the hit to the chin and was not aware that a neurological evaluation was necessary, he cleared Shane for one additional play."

Tell me again how that falls squarely on Brady?

The information is out there, read up before you attack one of our family members.  The guy had droves of former players step-up and sign-off on him because of how much on an impact he had on their lives when he helped us win a National Title, but you weren't a fan so I guess that doesn't mean anything to you?

"Absolutely, this is very disappointing," Jordan Kovacs, who played two seasons under Hoke (2011-2012), said in a telephone interview. "It's tough. Just reflecting on Coach Hoke, he's without a doubt the best guy I've run into in the football world. He's just the nicest guy, all about the team and passionate about Michigan football. Loved him to death for how he treated everyone fairly.

"I have the greatest memories of him. He did things the right way at Michigan — that's what he should be remembered for. Some programs are win at all costs, but that's not how he did things. I respect the hell out of him for that."

I guess you know more than the men who played under him...

I'm still kind of disappointed he didn't work out here.  He's a good person that put his team first, and really worked within the spirit of the 'Michigan Man' mystique.  Unfortunately, he was saddled with a horrible AD and was in over his head in a pressure cooker.  When it went south, he didn't know how to handle it, and had a supervisor that didn't help one friggin bit.

I'm glad he's lost that weight, he'll live a better life because of it.  Good luck to him!

Well, ya know we had a great week of pointing.  Sounded great.  We pointed with physicality.  But then it came time to take the photo and well ya know we couldn't get a lot of pointing in

He lost a hell of a lot of weight. It’s one of the hardest things to do, because it’s sure easy to put it on. You’ve got to want it bad enough and be committed to it. And he sure looks like he was/is.

Major kudos to him. He’s got discipline that I don’t have.

It was really easy to see why he recruited so well. He's a likable, genuine guy, and young recruits responded well to that.

Unfortunate his career here went the way it did, and it was clear at points that he was a bit in over his head, but he seems like the kind of guy who would be a lot of fun to sit down with at a bar for a few hours, knock back a few beers and swap some stories with.
