Blake Corum competing in the UA game skills competition.
For some reason, I can't embed video's anymore.

Looks like Corum beat out Julian Fleming head to head in an obstacle course. Fleming looks like he's 30 already wtf

I hate to be a downer but... it seemed pretty clear that Corum was trying harder than Fleming and beat him by less than a second. Corum slipped a couple of times and Fleming slowed down to finish with a backflip.

No I think you like being a downer. Did you watch the rest of the video? He won the whole competition. I think Fleming didn't look like he was trying because he is a long strider, compared to the other competitors who were shorter striders and looked like they were trying harder.

I'll take the kid that takes the competition seriously and wants to win over the showboater who "slowed down" to finish the course with a back flip ?♂️
*obviously that moment is not necessarily indicative of each player's character, but I figured since you wanted to play downer, I may as well play upper lol

It was the ability to do a back flip that got Ozzie Smith in the HOF before Alan Trammell

Nah, it was the nickname “The Wizard” that got him in.

Lol this is an exhibition game/week for them. If it was purely for competition they wouldn’t even come. They’ve already secured their positions at schools, the rankings, etc.

This is the lamest comment I've read on mgoblog.

So, Corum slipped a couple of times and still beat him by almost a second despite both slowing down to jump on the pad?
January 7th, 2020 at 9:14 AM ^
Sorry, chief, but for him to do a backflip he would have to flip, you know, backwards.
January 7th, 2020 at 9:34 AM ^
if you think Corum was trying really hard I don't know what to tell you. Watch some of his game tape. Then watch that skills competition. He's not close to running at 100%

This is fake. Flemming saw he was going to get beat so he was pretending to blow it off. "Effort" was not going to save him.

They both slowed down at the end to dive/flip on the mat. Pretty dumb way to end that course if you ask me, given it's timed.

Fleming looks like a 30 year old who parties with high schoolers and buys them pills.

I wonder if there's any correlation between excelling at UA skills competitions and excelling at actually playing college football.
January 7th, 2020 at 9:26 AM ^
Well, OSU players tend to be good at that sort of thing and they light us up every year - so I'd assume so.

I wonder if there is any correlation between being a felon and success in college or the NFL

The crazy thing is that Blake slipped twice and was still that fast. He's also really muscled up already so he should be at least somewhat capable of pass pro.

Fleming listed at 6'2", Corum at a generous 5'9". Different builds, different skills.
Corum definitely has the better quick burst skills.
Fleming probably outruns him on a post route.
Did they run timed 40's?

and different positions.

Good thing Corum isn’t a WR
