not only did they overcome a really poor start, but the refs had their thumbs on the scale in favor of nw all game. this was a good win

After we fell behind 0-17, we outgained them in yards 330 to 87 - during which we outscored them 20-0!

And yet some say Harbaugh was outcoached.

We started slow, the penalties stunk, but... backs against the wall they did not turn the ball over on offense or given up a big play on defense.
It was tough to watch but this game will help build the callus Coach Harbaugh talks about.

HAIL TO THE VICTORS

Thank you for this thread! My disposition has definitely gotten sunnier.

We have to come back because we come out flat in the first quarter...this has happened in many games. Think we beat OSU & PSU if we spot them 17 points like we did NW?

You must be looking for the “biggest comeback in the Harbaugh era negativity thread”.

I mean definitely some positives to take. Oline looked pretty decent all things considered, Patterson is a gamer and showed grit to come up with plays in the 4th despite not having a great night overall and Higdon ran extremely hard. Defense does need to put together complete games against Wisky, PSU, MSU and OSU though to have any shot of winning the big ten

I thought the OL gave some pretty good pass pro. Gaz didn't have the pass rush I thought he'd get, and Runyan looked pretty good against him. Good coverage downfield, though, better than I thought they'd have.

I missed most of the 1st qtr, but saw everything else. Watching the 2nd, it struck me that Michigan largely had control, despite the penalties and the score. The second half was just a thing of confidence - M knew they had control, and continued running the basics because they worked and they cut down on penalties. I don't like that they ran the ball up the middle on 7 of their last 8 first down plays - each of which went for 1 yd or less. The one play they didn't run on went to Wangler in the flat - for 9 yards. DIVERSIFY DAMMIT!!!
But overall, a good win against a tough defense.

You speak truth. Really the only time we were seriously outmatched was the 1st quarter.

Surprised me to read that graphic - never in his coaching career did his teams come back from that deficit. Was like "wow". Let's try not to make a habit of needing to come back from 17 down.

Our I-line actually pass protected. We couldn’t get anyone open though.

Natural grass is a big equalizer.

Especially their grass, which looked more like painted dirt. Everyone was slipping.

Wins a win. There are only 4 games left with any potential positive meaning on our schedule, but you have to win the meaningless games to preserve the potential.

3? Wisoconsin msu psu and osu. Not sure who your leaving out there
September 29th, 2018 at 11:45 PM ^
The oline is still bad. Watching osu and osu has depressed me more. I dont see anyway we beat osu. psu mayb just cause franklins a dumbass

Defend the short pass and that’s a great start

Good to see.
We need to pick up some momentum. Games like this can do that.

True!

Shouldn't have to come back from 17 down to 14.5 point dogs and the talent on this team. Anyone love Pep's playcalling?

Hey, here's where my positive peeps are!
That for holding back the tsunami of concern trolls!
Great win!
If this team wants to do something in November, you NEED some challenges like this to "steel the spine".
They could've easily lost that game, but THEY DIDN'T!
