Big Day for UM Alum in the NBA

Wolverines continue to break out in the NBA. Today's highlights:

Duncan Robinson shoots 6-11 from 3, leading the Miami Heat with 25 points (along with 5 rebs, 3 assists, and 2 steals) in a win over the Lakers.

Mo Wagner leads Orlando with 23 points, Franz goes for 18, and Iggy Brazdeikis adds 11 as the Magic take it to the Bulls.

With teammate Stephen Curry struggling (1-13 from 3), Jordan Poole steps up and leads Golden State with 20 points in a close win over the Jazz, including this sick ankle-breaking 3-pointer

6th man THJ chipped in 9 pts as the Mavs beat Memphis. Trey Burke has been playing spot minutes as well, alongside his old backcourt mate.

Caris Levert scored 30 to lead the Pacers in a win over the Lakers last Wednesday, but he's missed the last 2 games with a minor calf strain. He's expected to return to action this week.

Fun to see these guys thrive in the League. GO BLUE!

Nik has had a little bit of a rejuvenation in the G League this year. He was picked up on a 10 day by the Heat during one of these COVID shopping sprees.  Played two games (Houston/Sacramento) in limited minutes, before reassigning back to the G League and going for 20 in his first game back.

He hasn't played in the Grand Rapids Gold's last three games, not sure why. Website still lists him as on the roster, so maybe he injured.

I think his list might be "best" brother combos in NBA .. There have been 20+ brother/teammates, Cody and Caleb Martin hornets , the Lopez brothers (couple times)  ,Antetokoumpo brothers Bucks,Holidays for Pacers, i think 2 of the 3 Berrys played together , ... i think the Grant brothers played for the Pistons a few games this year or last year ..etc

This is awesome. I have a limited interest in the nba, generally speaking. But I love looking up the box scores to see how the guys on this list are doing.  Would love seeing Livers join that party.

Great to see our players do well. Especially THJ and Robinson having really down seasons after signing massive new contracts. Franz is clearly the best Wolverine prospect in the NBA right now and I'm really curious what kind of player he'll top out at.

Caris just can’t ever seem to have an entire year healthy, he could easily be one of the best pure scorers and all around players to come out of Michigan, I hope he has a Jamal Crawford type career where he just never seems to retire and always contributes when he is healthy.

And of course I wish this for every former Wolverine, but Caris just has a special place for me as a fan. John Belien’s greatest find for sure.

Iggy played the star
Jamming good with Poole and Matthews
One year after MAAR
He dribbled left hand
But drove it too far
He left to join the draft
Should've stayed and honed his craft

John Beilein is an absolute wizard, and each of these guys put in the work to make it happen at the pro level as well.

I cannot believe Duncan Robinson went from Division 3 runner-up to 9-figures of NBA earnings in less than a decade!

You could make an argument that there was no one in college basketball during Beilein's tenure that was better at finding talent and maximizing it to its fullest potential than he was. And not just finding talent, but the right talent for his system. Evaluating who brought what to the table and how that was going to fit into the lineup, I'd argue few, if any, did it better than him.

Especially for a guy who was never trying to recruit like Duke or Kentucky by getting five McDonalds All Americans on the floor together who's sole strategy is just to out-athlete you.
