I've been waiting for this since late Monday night!

I like some of their stuff. This does not hit the mark
January 3rd, 2024 at 11:54 AM ^
Genuinely disappointed. I was so hoping to see UGA and Bama checking in to pick up their L's (too soon to have Bama's L handed over low and bobbled?). If you want to laugh at midwestern stereotypes, just watch the Red Green Show. I did chuckle at the OSU/Iowa call-ins, but there was a missed opportunity to make a joke about midwestern passive aggressive back-handed compliments. Iowa could have complimented us on our fine punting performance, for example.

or Charlie Berenson, Alex Wherley, and (not my cup of tea but still good) the Busch Light guy
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:28 PM ^
Plus 1's to each of you for Red Green, Charlie Berens, and You Betcha the Busch Latte guy.

A salty show for sure but spot on regarding our conferences refusal to support each other when playing for a national title.
Frankly it is odd and stupid that LSU would be happy for Alabama winning the CFP or Kentucky fans supporting Georgia. Ohio State fans will not be rooting for us on Monday. Have some pride in your school!
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:04 PM ^
The fan calls was the only good bit.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:49 PM ^
The SEC has won 14 out of the last 20 national titles - being able to say "we play in the best conference so we're a better 9-3 team than you as a 9-3 team" is something Kentucky, or Mizzou, or Tennessee has been able to say for a long time. Perception matters and because Bama and Georgia win titles, Bama gets into the playoff over an undefeated Florida St. LSU gets to be the highest rated 3 loss team. And the losses look better to LSU when they are ranked 13th instead of 18th. Recruits want to play against the best in the SEC, so the best recruits go to the SEC. It's been a system that keeps the SEC at the top for so long.
It'll be good for the B1G when the B1G brings home the Heisman because USC's 5 star QB puts on a show. Or Oregon and Washington beat up teams in bowl games. High tide lifts all ships. We can still root against OSU and root on the B1G when our conference as more than 2 good teams in it.

I’m still firmly in the “F- the big ten” camp. I hope we take our football and leave.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:05 PM ^
This one missed the mark with me. I've enjoyed the vids that have been posted here this season but this one was bad. Hopefully next week's edition about a Michigan natty will be better.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:51 PM ^
There won't be a next week for SEC shorts. The SEC is done with football for the year.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:52 PM ^
I'm still waiting on this week's Michigan Monday.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:08 PM ^
Big Ten loyalty, HAH. Good one.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:14 PM ^
FunnyMaine and SEC Shorts both put out videos that just weren't funny. Neither has really been that good all season. Hopefully Matt Mitchell comes with something at least mildly entertaining.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:18 PM ^
A minute too long, but didn't hate it. The phone call segment was, of course, accurate.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:19 PM ^
I think they might be at a loss with none of their usual 'characters' in the CFP final.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:22 PM ^
Which would provide a great opportunity for a good sketch.
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:27 PM ^
To make comedy about something you need to understand it. It's called SEC Shorts, not CFB Shorts for a reason. They don't have enough insight about the Big Ten to really get into it.
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:40 PM ^
They previewed it themselves:
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:24 PM ^
I want SEC shorts to be funny. There's a real place for something like this. But alas, I am yet again disappointed.
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:41 PM ^
The Ryan Day impressions are pretty funny.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:26 PM ^
Usually like these but this one not so much.
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:30 PM ^
This isn't SEC Shorts, but found it pretty funny
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:27 PM ^
I think that's my Uncle Frank!
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:33 PM ^
Is he from Chicago or Minneapolis? Couldn't tell which region they were going for.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:44 PM ^
They were using the Chicago "Da Bears" SNL sketch for the visual but Fargo for the accent.
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:51 PM ^
Thank you! I went with the visual and couldn't place the accent, but it clearly wasn't Ditka.
January 3rd, 2024 at 4:41 PM ^
Northeastern Iowa...... so kinda both
January 3rd, 2024 at 12:39 PM ^
This wasn't funny at all
January 3rd, 2024 at 1:06 PM ^
I thought the concept was great in the first :30, but then the jokes just fell flat after that. They had a great chance to do something funny there but seemed to just land on being bitter SEC fanboys
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:01 PM ^
I thought it was good.
For those who are thinking "they're just bitter SEC fans, won't acknowledge their conference's loss!!!", remember that in the previous version of SEC Shorts, they basically said that FSU deserved to be in the playoff ahead of both Alabama and Georgia.
January 3rd, 2024 at 3:20 PM ^
Yeah I think generally they're more interested in being funny/entertaining than being homers. They don't seem to have any sacred cows -- they'll make fun of anybody and everybody, even if they don't land the plane all the time. What I always appreciate about these guys (and others like them), is they're generally putting out stuff pretty quickly after CFB Saturdays. They go from idea and concepting to scripting/storyboarding, to costuming/props (although many times these are basic), to filming, to editing, to market in all in day or two.
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:10 PM ^
Not their best work
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:41 PM ^
How did they get Tom Daldin to do this?
January 3rd, 2024 at 2:56 PM ^
NEVER FUNNY!
January 3rd, 2024 at 3:45 PM ^
woof this is instagram reels levels of unfunny
January 3rd, 2024 at 3:48 PM ^
Favorite part was the Ft Custer magnet sticker in background.
Pipestone (National Monument?) Minnesota honorable mention.
January 3rd, 2024 at 4:34 PM ^
The rest of the country has seen Fargo way too much. As a native Michigander, who now lives in Wisconsin, I have never heard anyone talk like that. Except, maybe, for a few YouBetchas here and there.
January 3rd, 2024 at 11:36 PM ^
The video has a great basement, public-access TV vibe; nice midwesternisms; and I love the call-in portion.
