Best Ever Sunday Brunch - Where do you go?

Submitted by xtramelanin on October 11th, 2020 at 2:25 PM

Mates,

Sunday brunch is a longtime tradition for many.  I mention it today in particular because our kids made one that might be the best I've ever had:  venison chili and cheese omelettes along with pumpkin chocolate chip pancakes.  With apple butter.  And syrup.  That was dynamite.

To our question though, where is/was the best Sunday Brunch you ever had?  Do you prefer Zingerman's?  What about your local greasy-spoon that serves up surprisingly good stuff?  Is there a chain restaurant that gets it done for you?

No lions playing today to turn your stomach, so weigh in on this beautiful fall Sunday.

I have two places to recommend if you're in Northern California:

Brown Sugar Kitchen in West Oakland: It's the best soul food in the Bay Area, and they have a ton of vegan offerings. Shrimp and grits all the way.

Tower Cafe in Sacramento: Trees and greenery all around. Everyone loves their custard french toast, though my favorite is their blueberry cornmeal pancakes.

I love Angelo's in Ann Arbor.  I think it's for nostalgia reasons. Being broke an 19 and scrounging up enough money for breakfast on a weekend.  Or standing in a ridiculous line to enjoy the raisin bread. Got to take my boys there for the first time last year, the morning after the MTSU game.  My reasons are only for nostalgia.

Afternoon delight.    Some diner on S. Industrial.    The old HOJo in Ypsitucky was pretty great in college, but it was called something else.

Hofbrau in Interlochen, MI. Kind of in the middle of nowhere 20 minutes from Traverse City but the brunch is amazing. Omelette stations, belgian waffles, prime rib, desert station with chocolate fountains and tons of variety. The bloody Marias are pretty damn good too.
