Ben Mason question

With how he is being used, and with no replacement like him coming, and this season not counting towards eligibility, do you see him back for a 5th year?  I don't see a significant NFL future, so returning and working on his Masters may be appealing depending on how the scholarship situation plays out

Thoughts?

I'm not a NFL draft or roster nerd, but I think his chances of getting drafted, relatively highly for a FB, are higher this year than at any other time. This year's draft class will have lots of players who opted out or otherwise didn't play this year. If you have a blocking FB/H-back hole on your roster (and there are always a few, though not all teams), would you rather draft Mason in the 5-7th round and basically have a guaranteed solution to your problem, or a 6th or 7th WR or DB who isn't all that likely to make the roster anyway? Who would you rather draft, Mason who is nearly guaranteed to be a solid roster player for a decade, or a late-round RB who might not even finish his rookie deal?

From 538:

According to Over The Cap, a website that tracks player contracts, just 14 of the NFL’s 32 teams currently have a fullback signed to a multi-year deal, and the average yearly salary for the position is just $1.16 million. Philadelphia head coach Doug Pederson has admitted that the Eagles don’t invest resources in the position, and the data seems to suggest that much of the league agrees with their approach.

I'd imagine Mason would come back.
