Sometimes you get your little brother excited when you're playing baseball and let him get the lead. Then you just come back and take it back.

Redshirt Freshman Jimmy Obertop, who hit the game-winning, 2-strike, 2-out home run, started the season 1-for-18.  In the 5 and a half games since then, he is 10-for-21 (.476) with 2 doubles and 4 home runs (including a grand slam) in that stretch.

Michigan is tied with Indiana for first in the Big Ten with a 9-2 record.  Northwestern is third at 7-3 and Nebraska 4th at 7-4.

I remember somebody posted RichRod's offensive playbook online and I was struck by all the misspellings.   I couldn't believe somebody would write that up, review it, and send it out for hundreds of copies to be distributed to the team whilst leaving them in there.   It really told me all I needed to know about his preparation and organizational skills as well as the people around him who were either just as illiterate, just didn't care about that level of detail, or too afraid to correct the boss.

I was curious how their own university could summarize a loss so bad.  Their school website has a great summary of the game, it was one sentence.

“The Spartans opened Sunday's action with a 7-3 loss to the Illini, then an 8-7 loss to the nationally-ranked Wolverines”  nothing about a 7 run lead?

and their Twitter site three tweets...

”on to close this out” “7-2” “8-7... back in action Monday”

It's an incredible feeling...congrats to the Michigan men.

Five years ago the college softball team I was assisting with was in a similar situation in a very large opening season event in the Dallas area. In the first game of the season we went down by 9 runs going into the bottom of the sixth-so needed to score at least twice to extend the game per the 8-run rule. We scored ten and held them in the top of the 7th for the win...pretty exciting.
