B1G Offensive Player of the Week: Wilton Spieght

Don't know how to embed but our very own Speight was crowned the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. Congrats to him and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Exactly. Speight hit on a couple nice deep throws, which is encouraging since Rudock didn't hit on anything over 20 yards until halfway through last season. And he made a some nice throws under duress which is encouraging.

But we should take all this offensive production with a grain of salt. We've done what we've needed to do against inferior competition, but it doesn't mean we'll be able to replicate the stats and numbers once we begin conference play. Our results against Penn State and Wisconsin will be a much better gauge of where we stand.

Rieger called both PSU and Wisconsin "trash" today on Valenti show. Claimed we wouldn't learn anything about the quality of our team by beating them. Made my head explode & had to turn the radio off. For anyone to call Wisconsin a cupcake at this point defies all logic. Rieger's hyperbolic hot takes actually make me pine for Terry Foster's return.

That one pass to Poggi where he essentially threw the ball while being sacked was impressive.

Also, his dimes to Darboh and Chesson were quite excellent.

I didn't doubt that Harbaugh knew what he was doing by naming Speight starter, but I DID NOT expect him to look this good.
