they're offensive in a different way...

talking about them every fucking time anything happens ever makes you worse than them, not better.

Once again we learned nothing about our offense. But it was encouraging that we didn't see a letdown either week, unlike the Hoke years.

We've also learned that a lot of Michigan fans are absolutely ridiculous with their expectations. I have honestly never seen this many people bitter/pissed about a 37 point win. WTF???
September 12th, 2016 at 11:44 AM ^
September 12th, 2016 at 11:19 AM ^
We have at the very least learned that they are well ahead of where they were at this time last year.
September 12th, 2016 at 11:25 AM ^
Exactly. Speight hit on a couple nice deep throws, which is encouraging since Rudock didn't hit on anything over 20 yards until halfway through last season. And he made a some nice throws under duress which is encouraging.
But we should take all this offensive production with a grain of salt. We've done what we've needed to do against inferior competition, but it doesn't mean we'll be able to replicate the stats and numbers once we begin conference play. Our results against Penn State and Wisconsin will be a much better gauge of where we stand.
September 12th, 2016 at 11:29 AM ^
If Wiscy plays 9 in the box all day, Michigan is going to do a lot better agains them than LSU did.

that O'Korn was going to be the starter.
Speight goes from afterthought / potential transfer to B1G offensive player of the week. I think it's awesome.
September 12th, 2016 at 11:22 AM ^
In SPEIGHT of his thoughts about transferring at one point, he is now the starter and B1G player of the week. I am proud of him.

Glad he didn't wilt under the pressure of a tough QB competition.

That era was like the really horrible winter that made the spring and summer that followed seem that much more amazing. I gotta appreciate that horrible winter.

Would've liked to see Tate Forcier with Harbaugh as his QB coach. Kid was fun to watch. Ah well.

use that word (haters) a lot.

Mike McCray did

So even though Butt dropped some passes and the O-line struggled he won? You might say inspeight of those issues?
Congrats to our QB!
September 12th, 2016 at 11:22 AM ^
That one pass to Poggi where he essentially threw the ball while being sacked was impressive.
Also, his dimes to Darboh and Chesson were quite excellent.
I didn't doubt that Harbaugh knew what he was doing by naming Speight starter, but I DID NOT expect him to look this good.

I think you are forgetting the play that's being discussed. One of very "few" Denard arm punts that evening.

have now been reduced to a three and out, instead of a pick. By OSU, maybe they'll be gone entirely!

To me it looked like Chesson had let up on that "overthrow" to give Speight more time/room to make the throw, then sped up at the end. If he keeps going full speed I think that's a TD. Not sure it was on Speight.
September 12th, 2016 at 12:01 PM ^
Reminded me of some of the early season Chesson/Rudock lack of synchronization.
