B10 Title Game - Pick Winner + Saturday Activities

Submitted by xtramelanin on

Mates,

Today is the B10 title game with MSU v. Iowa and state favored by I think 4 pts at most places.   It is also the first Saturday, except for the bye week, that there's no Michigan game and indeed only one game left (yikes) to be played before next August.  So two questions:

1.  Who do you pick to win the B10 title tonight, and not just because you like/don't like one of the teams, but who do you actually think will win and why?

2.  What are you doing with your first Saturday that is basically the start of the off season?  Sunny and warm here up north, looks like a family football game with the entire family (even beloved mgowife) and cutting down a Christmas tree from the north part of the farm and dragging it into the house.  What do you have going?

Pick your winner and enjoy your day.

Sorry everyone, I think MSU wins. They're more talented than Iowa and unfortunately they have a better coach too. They cover the spread and win by at least a touchdown. Hopefully they draw Alabama in the first round and Nick Saban takes them to pound town!

State will win. Book it. Take the points.

They seem to get almost every bounce/call. I don't want to say they're lucky, but...they're lucky.

Don't get me wrong. MSU is solid. But still just seems to work out for MSU. Nothing really goes wrong.

Unfortunately Sparty probably wins. Iowa has not faced a team all year that stacks up against MSU. Honestly don't think it will even be close. Curious how many MSU fans show up considering they can't even fill there own stadium? I will be winterizing my lawn equipment, then sitting down by the fire for football and beer. Go Iowa!!

1. Gas - run your mower until gas is out. You can also add fuel stabilizer because bad (old) gas will gunk up your fuel system. (most important thing)

2. Oil - It's not a bad idea to drain and replace the oil now. you can do in the spring but doing it now (with plug) will likely make spring start up easier.

3. In the spring change the spark plug and sharpen the blade. Doesn't have to be done every year for a walk behind.

4. check air filters - they sometimes can just be cleaned by some vaccuming and/or gently banging the filter against a rock.

the nicer place you store it ( garage vs outside), (warmer basement vs garage) the less problems you are likely to have.

If you aren't mechanical at all, just run until gas is out. Many services come out to your house in the spring and do all the other stuff for about $50.

With ths El Nino winter we may be cutting our Michigan lawns in January. Supposed to be in the 60's next weekend!

1.) I think State will win. If Iowa faced better teams in the B1G West, I might be more optimistic. Bummer about MSU making the playoff; however, with an 8- or 16-team CFP on the horizon, we should probably get used to several rivals making the playoffs. (I pick Alabama, Clemson, and Stanford to win the other conference championships, but I have doubts about USC losing to Stanford twice this season.)

2.) My boyfriend and I are driving to Chicago to see Dave Chappelle. I plan to do a little holiday shopping while there.

[Feel like Drew Carey]Comparing points for and points against averages, Iowa has the slight advantage(2.4 points). MSU played @ Michigan and OSU so they get 7 and another 3 because they are healthy and hot(vomiting right now). Add and subtract - MSU by 7.6

Cleaning the garage and hopefully grill up some vitamins for dinner & watching B1G Champ game.

I believe MSU wins 27-20.  MSU's front seven will be much more disruptive than anything Iowa has seen all season.  MSU is getting healthy again and they have more help on the back end as well.

Also, I don't see Iowa stopping Burbridge.  Now that I think about it, MSU might run away with 34-21.

I'm seeing Bama or Oklahoma winning it all.  Thnat would be a great Championship matchup

Today, I am driving from Jackson to Detroit to set up Christmas trees for my dad and uncle and maybe hit a few new golf clubs on the way home.

I am going to go with for the 3rd year in a row the underdog wins. So Iowa is my choice.
Also, if OSU makes the playoffs this year, I will refuse to watch and have respect for CFP process. They didn't even win their division let alone their conference.

Go Hawkeyes!!! If MSU wins I get to spend the the holidays with family members who went there as their football team is in the playoffs and their basketball team is #1 in the country. That's a horrific scenario. That being said, Iowa is a fraud, they have played only 3 teams with winning records all season and they struggled in two of those games. MSU 37 Iowa 17.

for all the obvious reasons already stated on here BUT my head says MSU 29-17

We are still not out of NY6 Bowl..its a long shot but if we are in the top 11 in the final poll I believe we get one..There is no limit to how many teams from conference gets in..we only need to rise 4 spots...so basically we need NC to lose to Clemson, Texas beats Baylor, USC beats Stanford thats 3 right there and then wed need a little luck with the voting like maybe ranking us ahead of NW bcecause of the 38-0 head to head...stranger things have happened on the final weekend

State will be down 6 with :11 to go and no time outs. Iowa will have the ball at their own 28 yard line and will need one kneel down to win it. They will fumble the snap and State will pick it up and score. Par for their season.

If they both bring their "A" games state wins handily. You gotta feel like this is their year as much as it sucks to admit it. They've gotten so lucky...are peaking at the right time....
MSU 34
Iowa 17

Though along with pretty much everyone else, I'm rooting for Iowa. I just think they have the advantage at QB and in coaching. I'll probably tune in the Bball game and watch that and the B1G championship. I came back from Tokyo yesterday and will leave all the chores involving ladders and power tools until I feel a little more human. The biggest challenge today is just to stay awake.

I think Sparty wins by double digits. They have been able to stop the better running games in the conference. Rudock was able to expose Sparty's secondary so Iowa will keep it close for a half.

Sidenote, how crappy will it be if East Landfill gets NC's in football and hoop. God help us.
