Aubrey Solomon granted immediate eligibility
Lets see all the Harbaugh hot takes after this one.
For Tennessee this is a big deal as apparently they return only 3 DL that have ever played a D1 snap. Tennessee plays a 3-4 defense so Solomon will be playing as a 2 gap DE. His 24 tackles and two TFL’s, in 18 games is more than Tennessee’s entire returning defensive line had last season.

Just got word that Harbaugh is petitioning to have this overturned.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:35 PM ^
Good
August 27th, 2019 at 8:01 PM ^
On the contrary, it was King Harbaugh and King Harbaugh alone that granted this request.
August 27th, 2019 at 11:49 PM ^
Fickell coached this up.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
I just don’t get the inconsistencies of the NCAA. Let them all play after a transfer or make them sit. Dafuq is so hard about that?
August 27th, 2019 at 7:33 PM ^
I just don’t get the inconsistencies of the NCAA.
It's called the SEC.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:54 PM ^
Lol, my mistake. I need to learn how to spell.
August 27th, 2019 at 9:34 PM ^
Really not bad for a bandaid.

If you don't like AC/DC you don't like rock and roll!!
August 27th, 2019 at 7:27 PM ^
What possible explanation could he give to get immediate eligibility?
August 27th, 2019 at 8:55 PM ^
Too much playing time? Some reverse psychology on that ass.
August 27th, 2019 at 10:28 PM ^
"Distance from home--Ann Arbor was a travel/distance hardship."
That would be the argument, and it's one that's ordinarily granted.
---
As for the whole SEC thing, that was really the thing for Solomon, wasn't it? He wanted to be pandered to SEC prima donna style, and he wasn't.
August 27th, 2019 at 11:47 PM ^
Then why did he go to Michigan?
August 28th, 2019 at 12:53 AM ^
My random guess is it was a reverse Malik McDowell situation. Maybe his mom wanted him to go to Michigan because she hoped the environment would be better for him (academically etc). Instead of refusing, Solomon went.
Then it sounds like he may have sabotaged his playing time by failing classes, not attending class & practices, etc. My unfounded speculation is that a big reason for his lack of playing time was not merely injury, but maybe concerns that if M played him, they’d have problems later with him being academically ineligible??
August 28th, 2019 at 7:35 AM ^
So all of this conjecture is random guess and unfounded speculation? Do you have any evidence he was struggling with classes?
We're thin on the inside this year. Losing Aubrey hurts.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
Harbaugh obviously learned his lesson. Bet he won't do that again.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
All it took was for him to say, "FUCK the NCAA", as a matter of fact many of us have also said the same thing.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:30 PM ^
Does anyone know what reasoning he used in his request? I had not heard of him having any issues that would warrant immediate eligibility.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:33 PM ^
He said it was very cold in Michigan in the winter, and it wasn't as cold in Tennessee.
August 27th, 2019 at 11:29 PM ^
He said the roads in Michigan are terrible.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
Was lied to about the food at Michigan being just as good as in the South. No sweet tea either.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
To be fair, sweet tea in the South is a big deal.
August 27th, 2019 at 8:15 PM ^
I have yet to figure out why. The tea tastes better than sugar, which is why I want tea.
August 27th, 2019 at 8:20 PM ^
People not from the South just don't understand. My mom would add the sugar to the tea while it was hot off the stove so that she could supersaturate it. Also added some baking soda to cut down on the bitterness since she'd let it steep for a long time.
Biscuits also aren't as good when I travel outside the South. I don't know what it is. Lack of using buttermilk or White Lily flour possibly.
The cider and doughnuts are much better up there though (I'm not going to compare the doughnuts to Krispy Kreme because that's not fair).
August 27th, 2019 at 8:30 PM ^
Are you sure she wasn’t making meth?
August 27th, 2019 at 8:33 PM ^
Haha...very good. ??
August 27th, 2019 at 8:38 PM ^
Could have been adding meth to the tea. Probable. Would explain a lot.
August 28th, 2019 at 9:01 AM ^
That shit was funny, thanks for the laugh.
August 27th, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
I'll take your word for the tea, because I have had really good sweet tea. I just prefer unsweetened, though. Biscuits... Biscuits just suck. Pour enough sausage gravy on them and they're palatable, but that's it.
You win the post, though, with the Krispy Kreme comment. There is no comparison to a KK glazed just off the line. O. M. G.!! In fact, 3 day old KK glazed, microwaved for 10 seconds, is STILL way better than any other donut I've ever had!
August 27th, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
I hear ya Hillbilly. My grandma made her sweet tea just like your mom. I made some last weekend and man It always brings back some fond memories.
as for the biscuits,White Lily has lower protein than most other all purpose flour, which makes it much lighter. I order WL on Amazon and it’s the only flour I use for my biscuits. Some other brands are making biscuit flour now, like King Arthur, but I am pretty loyal to White Lily.

Hot takes:
North Carolina makes the best biscuits, they just try harder. A bojangles cajun filet biscuit sandwich with bo rounds is life. "Sweet tea" is an insult to actual tea, a generic Moroccan maghrebi mint tea blows it out of the water every time, and it's not even close. Agreed that Krispy Kreme doesn't make doughnuts. Give me apple fritters, paczki, or old fashioned sour cremes. They taste a hundred times better than those flimsy sugar bombs they mass produce, and don't dissolve the instant you try dunking them in anything.
August 28th, 2019 at 9:58 AM ^
The last thing I want to drink is supersaturated sugar water.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
I thought I read it was home sickness.
August 28th, 2019 at 12:18 AM ^
He said that the Lions often played not too far from Ann Arbor.
August 28th, 2019 at 1:12 AM ^
He said the SEC girls are better looking!
August 28th, 2019 at 9:56 AM ^
This is true AND they're usually our cousin. Win win.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:31 PM ^
But why? I'm fine with Solomon getting eligibility, but what was his reasoning and why was he granted vs. any other transfers. It seems like his transfer was granted simply because he transferred to an SEC school. The inconsistencies with these transfer rulings is ridiculous and just adds to atmosphere of confusion. Ultimately, players shouldn't be angry at the institution but the NCAA for not outlining what clear exceptions are available to bypass the sitting 1 year out rule.

NCAA rationale for allowing immediate eligibility at all SEC teams:. It Just Means More

$EC $cum-bag (men) own the NCAA ... it is that $imple
August 27th, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
It was the NCAA’s idea of a Big Ten payback for allowing Fields to transfer from an SEC school to a Big Ten school.
August 27th, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
If that is true, man did we get screwed coming and going on that one.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:35 PM ^
He didn't live up to expectations here.
August 27th, 2019 at 8:31 PM ^
From what I've gleaned he's one of the laziest players we've ever had.
August 27th, 2019 at 9:07 PM ^
Really? How so? I’m not doubting you, just not in the loop now that I have a newborn.
August 27th, 2019 at 10:55 PM ^
It's what he gleaned. I'm not sure what clarification you could possibly need after that statement. He probably didn't keep up with the MDen catalog updates. JK WD, luv u.

Hang nails..We all know the NCAA is loaded with Los Vegax craps.
August 27th, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
SEC baby!
August 27th, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
That's irritating. Of all the people who transferred in the last year, he was the least deserving of immediate eligibility.
