Athlon has Michigan 5th
Ohio State ranked at 3rd? They are bullish on recruiting rankings it seems.

but the first poll I will recognize is gonna be released after 10/29.
Indeed. Just win the Big Ten and let the rest take care of itself.
A 0 or 1 loss Big Ten champ is going to make the CFP. Anything can happen from there . . . (see Ohio State and a 3rd string QB winning the whole thing).
used to come out in late July.

are about as worthless as a bag of spit
I think Michigan should probably be in the 6-10 range; I don't really think we deserve a top 5 ranking at this point, but we definitely should be top 10 given we finished #12 and lose relatively little.
I hate admitting it, but its not hard to see why they're so bullish on OSU. I think their recruiting classes have been at least top 3 every year since Meyer has been there. A lot of talent may have left, but there's a lot of young 4-5 star talent waiting in the wings to take their places. They may trip up at Oklahoma, but they'll be playing at an elite level come November.
Hard not to give guys like Meyer and Saban the benefit of the doubt. They've combined to win 7 of the last 10 titles. With the way they recruit, not to mention the high level at which they can coach, they could each lose half their team every year and still be a favorite to win it all.
Why on Earth would they not be bullish on OSU's recruiting or the likelihood that they'll reload quickly? Is there any evidence supporting anything to the contrary over the last 10 years or so? Do you really see a list like this and roll your eyes because somehow they're getting more respect than us? This is just yet another example of where the readership of this blog has gone. Of all the information on that page, your two sentences is the best you can do? Absolutely pathetic.

G-D, i hate double posts.
still cannot wait for the 3rd. Who do y'all think we are playing?
i get the feeling that this is our year
haven't been this excited for a season in a long time! nice home stretch to start things off too.
Assuming Speight wins the QB job, imagine where we would be ranked if he would've started last year? He would have a year of game experience under Harbaugh and it could be a position of strength going into the season. We may have lost one additional game last year...maybe. I think we are in the top 4 in every preseason ranking and one of the clear cut favorites to make the CFP. I hope the need to win now last year doesn't come back to bite us this year.
