Tennessee has a 5* quarterback committed to them for the 2023 class.

LSU received a commit from a top 5 quarterback in the 2022 class, and is in the top 3 with Dante Moore.

Ole Miss has a quarterback committed to them in the 2023 class.  He is not as highly rated compared to Manning, but he is already the quarterback commit Kiffin wants.  Also, Texas is much more a prestigious football program than Ole Miss.

I never met a rich person who decided not to get richer if possible. Just b/c he grew up relatively wealthy and one day is probably set to inherit a shit ton of money and/or gain access to some serious trust fund dough at whatever age that is set to happen, doesn't mean he has access to  millions of his own cash right now. A hefty NIL could give him that ASAP as well as a feeling of independence from any sort of parental purse strings.

Didn't Ewers just get on campus? Damn, that's two straight #1 overall QBs in a row. Assuming those two pan out, Texas is set at QB for at least the next four years or so.

Also, fun little factoid: we'll be facing Manning in 2024 when Michigan heads down to Austin for the first part of that home/home matchup. Probably his first or second game under center as a starter. That's gonna be a doozie. Hopefully we'll have a senior pre-season All-American JJ McCarthy leading the way or a sophomore hotshot Dante Moore to counter with.

Let's see how Sarkisian and Texas manage the expectations. He gets a first year mulligan but they completely fell apart after blowing it against Oklahoma. With the amount of talent that Texas can recruit just within driving distance of campus, there is never an excuse for them to not win at least 9-10 games a year.

Seemed like once McCoy got injured on the first drive of the title game against Alabama back in '09, that signaled the end for Texas for the next decade plus. You'd like to think one single play doesn't define the trajectory of your program for that long a time, but in Texas' case it sure does seem like that's what happened.

Not too mention Sark's career record as a coach is below .500 coach against P5 teams.

And that was with superior talent at Washington, USC and Texas relative to the rest of their respective conference opponents.

If he is still there when Texas makes it to the SEC, he will at best have even talent against the top echelon of teams.
