Arch Manning to Texas..
Posting because they are on schedule for 2024.
I didn't realize and/or forgot that Quinn Ewers went to Texas too. To have two #1 QB recruits even if they are [two] years apart is crazy.
Damn. And I thought all the crystal balls favored Michigan!
Why? Sark is excellent, offensive minded coach. Dude is legit
A seven figure NIL deal may also be in play behind the scenes.
This is a reverse Ewers. He'll get Texas oil NIL for a year, then transfer to OSU.
BUT HIS GRANDDAD WENT TO OLE MISS! And his dad. And his uncle too! And his other uncle went to Tennessee!
LEGACY RECRUIT!!!
Someone inform the authorities.
someone get a pic of him putting a texas hat on ol' archie's head
For some reason I had it in my head he was Peyton's son. Shows how much I was paying attention to this.
My seven year old like Texas because of their mascot. I guess he'll be happy.
When I was a kid, I liked college teams for the dumbest of all reasons: their color scheme. Texas (burnt orange), North Carolina (Carolina blue) and Tennessee (hillybilly yellow) topped the list.
As good a reason to like a team as where you were born to me!
I wonder if he will be the Manning with the highest lifetime earnings before he graduates from college.
Tennessee has a 5* quarterback committed to them for the 2023 class.
LSU received a commit from a top 5 quarterback in the 2022 class, and is in the top 3 with Dante Moore.
Ole Miss has a quarterback committed to them in the 2023 class. He is not as highly rated compared to Manning, but he is already the quarterback commit Kiffin wants. Also, Texas is much more a prestigious football program than Ole Miss.
Meh… enjoy football mediocrity, but the NIL is probably great
Hard to imagine he cares too much about NIL given that his NIL will come from his last name more than his uniform. Not to mention he is from a family of mega-millionaires and is likely to become a millionaire in his own right in a few years.
But who knows.
Agree, don't think NIL was a factor at all in his recruitment
I do. Everything is bigger in Texas.
I never met a rich person who decided not to get richer if possible. Just b/c he grew up relatively wealthy and one day is probably set to inherit a shit ton of money and/or gain access to some serious trust fund dough at whatever age that is set to happen, doesn't mean he has access to millions of his own cash right now. A hefty NIL could give him that ASAP as well as a feeling of independence from any sort of parental purse strings.
It's all about the Texas cheerleaders. He is the big man coming to campus with those cheerleaders. When I was a teenager I always wanted to play college baseball for Texas because of the football cheerleaders.
I would choose USC in that scenario.
If they suck he can just transfer to any school he wants anyway
Ohio state community college already prepping the paperwork
Lemme fix that for you before some drunk wannabee lawyer finds you.
It's THE Ohio State C.C.
Dammit. Beaten to the joke. :-)
Off-campus and on-line!!
Except to Michigan. He'd be SOL.
Didn’t Quinn Ewers transfer there? Back to back no. 1 rated QB recruits. Expectations have to be through the roof for the horns.
Don’t think they’re going to overlap all that much. Ewers will most likely transfer again. If not he’ll go pro before manning gets there
Good.
TEXAS IS BACK!
If somehow the old SWC gets back together, then I agree.
Didn't Ewers just get on campus? Damn, that's two straight #1 overall QBs in a row. Assuming those two pan out, Texas is set at QB for at least the next four years or so.
Also, fun little factoid: we'll be facing Manning in 2024 when Michigan heads down to Austin for the first part of that home/home matchup. Probably his first or second game under center as a starter. That's gonna be a doozie. Hopefully we'll have a senior pre-season All-American JJ McCarthy leading the way or a sophomore hotshot Dante Moore to counter with.
Let's see how Sarkisian and Texas manage the expectations. He gets a first year mulligan but they completely fell apart after blowing it against Oklahoma. With the amount of talent that Texas can recruit just within driving distance of campus, there is never an excuse for them to not win at least 9-10 games a year.
They have won 10 games in a season once since 2009.(From 2001-2009 they won 10 or more games every year)
Texas has been profoundly mediocre for over a decade.
They went from Vince Young to Colt McCoy and were on fire. Once McCoy left it was over.
Seemed like once McCoy got injured on the first drive of the title game against Alabama back in '09, that signaled the end for Texas for the next decade plus. You'd like to think one single play doesn't define the trajectory of your program for that long a time, but in Texas' case it sure does seem like that's what happened.
Not too mention Sark's career record as a coach is below .500 coach against P5 teams.
And that was with superior talent at Washington, USC and Texas relative to the rest of their respective conference opponents.
If he is still there when Texas makes it to the SEC, he will at best have even talent against the top echelon of teams.
Id be willing to bet a ham sandwich that Texas won't have them both on the roster in two years.
As for Dante the latest is he is tired of the process, down to Oregon and Michigan, planning on visiting both schools shortly and making a commitment before his season.
Seems like it’d be good for him to get it done with so he can recruit other high profile players to wherever he chooses.
Even the next week after Texas --- they had the game won against a good Oklahoma State team and blew it.
There is a ton of talent there, even today. It's mostly a matter of them getting the winning attitude, belief and swagger.
They need their Aidan.
I wonder how much money they are giving him.
They probably just drove past oil fields and told him to point to the one he wanted like a lobster in a tank.
Unfortunately this likely confirms Johntay Cook to Texas
New Wiltfong CB agrees.
we lose guys before they even have a chance to think about it... yeesh. another 5 star in this week until another QB commits.
Makes me wonder why Moore really needs 9 decades to decide. Its his decision and his timeline, but most elite QBs try to commit early enough so they can bring a posse with them.
"Makes me wonder why Moore really needs 9 decades to decide."
I think he's looking for the best deal.
Do I go to a program where the head coach has put one QB in the NFL and tried his hardest to bail on the program and take his OC with him, or hedge my bets elsewhere?
Moore had a lot to think about.
Guess we know the answer to who is first to cut and go to front of the line at Franklin BBQ!
How long before Ewers transfers out?
Probably the moment a better NIL deal is offered?
Is he gonna be the next Tathan Martel?
