Leaders And Best

Ole Miss also looked terrible at home against Vanderbilt, and got routed by Florida. Taken in context with their season-to-date, the Alabama game looks more like an outlier with each passing week. Have not been impressed with their QB play with Chad Kelly at all. Of all the teams in the top 15, only LSU may be getting worse production out of their QB.

And the final score was not 43-24. It was a one score game, and Alabama had the ball with a chance to win in the last 2 minutes.

For years, we were always the highest ranked 1-loss team, or highest ranked 2-loss team, etc.

We were usually also ranked above a bunch of undefeated teams if we had 1 loss, or ranked above a bunch of 1-loss teams if we had 2 losses, etc.

It's good to be back!

Called it last night...

Win over MSU and we'll be a minimum of #9. You're going to jump MSU, UF/LSU play, Bama and TAMU play. That's a minimum of #9 and more likely #7 or #8.

If I would've told you that after week 7 we would be #7 in the country in August. You would've killed me in the balls and dragged me to the hostipal for being an idiot.

I hate to see Michigan State drop because of injuries, but that's the nature of football. I think they've lost about 14 players since the offseason, and about ~8-10 of them were starters or projected starters too (3 starters on the OL + a back-up).

They were (are?) losing players at a rate of 1-2 per game.  I wouldn't fault fans or coaches for discussing injuries.  It's one thing to lose a couple players, quite another to lose that each week.  Not as an "excuse" per se, but as a potential explanation for why they have been so underwhelming.

I think we'd do the same under similar circumstances.  But, at the end of the day, all teams have to deal with them.

After having zero significant injuries the past 7 years, you'll excuse me for not caring that they are losing a bunch this year. Their demise is inevitable and we will ruin their season, injuries or not. They have looked like shit all year even with everyone, so I'm not buying the injuries excuse

So, you are saying they will drop only because of injuries. Not because we can beat them straight up? We had no QB, lost two key players on Defense, bunch of transfers, a couple left, new coaches, new system, lack of development in 7 years. See what I did there. I can come up 100 excuses. While I feel bad for kids with injuries, that is the nature of Football.

#7 by mid-October no less.

You would have then said "Wow, Jake Ryan must be playing out of his mind".  When told "No, not really, he's actually worse than he was at Iowa", your head would completely explode.
