And someone explain to me what was on his resume that JH thought this guy should be on staff?

He was a volunteer assistant for several years before being hired as an analyst, so they had a body of work to go by.  If you're talking about why they took him on as a volunteer assistant, well, I don't think they're going to be that picky about an unpaid position.  You basically just want a hard worker.

I firmly believe that there are "powers that be" that are pulling strings behind the scenes to destroy Michigan football. There's no way the judge gets switched then ignores a tro against the big 10's clear over reach with out due process in the 11th hour.

So, all of the posters (I wasn’t one of them, BTW) that everyone insulted, called trolls, downvoted, were right. And all of our so called experts, insiders, etc were wrong.

And, in the end, the scum won. And, anyone who believes that not having Harbaugh on the sidelines for this game is not a huge disadvantage for us is misguided and naive.

College athletics, football in particular, is a disgrace.

If you the the NCAA takes forever to complete something, the United States Judicial System would like to say: “Hold my beer.”

Allow me to interject here and say that we should not express vitriol at the judge - this was always a risk in being forced to engage in this process with our own conference, so we will simply need to win today. The judge is also a local resident and so are a lot of us, and people talk, and I really don't want this place to sully whatever reputation it may have in the middle of a crisis in which we have been forced to participate by a series of injustices enacted by our conference leadership.

That said, for Petitti to win this particular round is infuriating, but we do have a hearing to look forward to as well as a game in about 80 minutes.

Well said. I was feeling a bit concerned about getting the TRO granted today and the judge being accused of the same hastiness and lack of due process that we are accusing Pettiti of. In a way, this is the high road. Win the game today. Win in court next Fri. That being said, the fact that we are in this position in the first place is BS.

If the judge is prevented from making a decision, that's one thing.

If she won't, not sure I agree with you, that's the job.

This is a clear-cut case of a wrong being hastily enacted and the TRO injunction the manner in which that wrong is prevented pending full review.

Punting here because you aren't sure is weak sauce. Make a ruling one way or the other, then verify 11/17 in a hearing.

Judges decide things.

I'm not saying she should be pilloried, but not doing your job is definitely something for which you can be criticized.

Criticism of the current state of affairs and not ruling today is fine. I am referring more about anything which might be over the top and ad hominem. I just wanted to toss a reminder out there that disillusionment or disagreement with the legal reasoning is one thing, but name-calling or other abuse is quite another.

I mean, I disagree with it myself and here I am.

Whatever happens, let's all be sure we have the right judge before we criticize anything. Also, agree that criticizing this decision or lack thereof should be limited to just that.....the judge's actions or inactions only. But in my opinion, of there was an opportunity to make a decision today within the bounds of the system and the deliberately pernicious actions of the B1G were not thwarted due to a judge being incapable of making a ruling..... that's wholly undefendable.

Our own bias’s or not. She failed at her job and gave poor legal reasoning. There is nothing wrong with holding her accountable.  The Big10’s timing of announcement was egregious and intentional and any impartial qualified judge should see that and be insulted by that alone.  Claiming there is no irreparable damages as reasoning to not grant a stay ( not a lawyer not sure I’m wording that correctly) is being purely  and obnoxiously obtuse to the matter.

Her reputation deserves to be damaged.  Making a decision on the grounds of not appearing to be favorably biased is every bit as morally bankrupt as making based on being favorably biased

A judge who does their job is going to try to allow the other party a change to respond.  The court will then need to review case law, do their own research, and draft an opinion.  This takes time.  The timing of the litigants is NOT the court’s problem.  That is why being passive and waiting for the official discipline, rather than the notice of possible disciplinary action, was a mistake.  Played right into the hands of the BIG.

We always make fun of the SEC but they wouldn't have done this shit. They support their schools to a fault.

What kind of a conference submarines one of its flagship schools that has a playoff and national championship shot? The SEC is figuring out how to get multiple teams in.

I mean I get that the Big Ten's bush league move put the legal system up against it time wise but still infuriating to see that the Big Ten essentially got rewarded for acting in extremely bad faith.
