I was one of the bad guys who pointed out the fact that a court might not think this situation justified the unusual remedy of a TRO.

That’s not being contrary. It’s telling the simple truth.

Fans have hopes and get pissed.  It’s understandable. They love the team. I do, too. Go Blue, and stay in the ass-kicking business!

Ed Shuttlesworth made what is probably the salient point here: “irreparable harm” would be limited solely to the money rather than anything to do with what happens on the field. Without knowing yet what the judge ruled, he may well have been right.

Yea that surprises me as well.  How can the judge not see the harm of keeping the head coach away during the biggest game of the season.  Meanwhile there is no equal harm to the conference.  I’m really surprised this wasn’t granted just to keep the status quo until a fulller hearing can take place.

The timing of this suspension is way too suspicious. Could have been done during the week so the coaches could have prepared the players. This is intentional sabotage.

So I was thinking about this last night, after the revelation that a decision today would potentially get us through the OSU game... it really wouldn't. The court would require a hearing within 14 days from the day the ruling was issued. So, it might work in our favor if the judge waited until Monday to rule on the TRO. Though, my understanding was that a TRO like this has to be ruled on before the stated deadline...

Can any MGoLawyers clarify for me?

Not really.  In strict legal terms, this is a clusterfuck.

At this point I think the safe assumption is that Harbaugh won’t be coaching the rest of the regular season.

The shittiest of all things in that this is not going to satisfy anybody who is going after Michigan.  I think the next “call” from the mob will be to keep them out of the title game (if applicable).  And right now I have no reason to think the BIG would not do that.

I'll eat crow here: I'm shocked by this decision, while a TRO is never a slam dunk, UM had a pretty good case in my opinion.

Then again had you understood and responded rationally and respectfully you wouldn't have gotten negged to oblivion yesterday, but instead you were an ass.

This reminds me of the "money cannon" related to nil. Pretty sure Georgia, Alabama, Ohio, Notre Dame would all have made it happen.

This tro only served to give the team hope that didn't come through. Seems foolish to have put that in players minds.

Would have been better to leave the rallying cry in place and let that inspire them. Way too much uncertainty in such a critical moment

Hope I'm wrong but this is a lot to weigh on their minds in addition to the game

Maybe it’s a UM mind fuck…maybe like I said last night…Da bomb would be to keep TRO unannounced until JH comes running out of the tunnel tomorrow at noon with a copy of TRO in hand and with news crew all around, gives it to Ref and says “Bet”.

Extremely irritating that the Big Ten is going to get away with its pathetic stunt of running out the clock and suspending Harbaugh after we had flown to State College.

We'll just have to pound PSU into submission.
