You get more of these than you need and it's for a semester. Teams do this all the time - even the good ones. It's really not that big of a deal and is no measure on how good we are.

Kentucky and Duke and UNC do this when they have an opportunity. You hear about it more when teams are waiting for a freshman or transfer to qualify and they don't so you give the free ride to a walk-on for a semester and get it back after the year.

Michigan isn't average because they gave a scholarship to a walk-on. They're average because they're an average basketball team as a whole.

In WBB it's REALLY popular because they get 15 scholarships. I've heard of coaches putting managers on scholarship in WBB. It's a joke. Just give it to another women's sport.

Man, he looked like he was about to shit his pants. I don't think he even realized what was going on until everyone started applauding.

Definitely the same idea, but Michigan had better execution. The EMU kid didn't even have time to get scared before it was clear what was going on. Dakich had plenty of time to think through every single thing he may be wrongly accused of and freak out before being relieved.

Seriously my mind would be racing through every sin I've committed, every stop sign I rolled through, any party I was at where drugs were present, any assignment where it might even appear I copied off someone hahaha. I'm sure Andrew had a mini panic attack there even if he'd never done anything wrong in his life

I'm sorry sir, but your dog was killed by drunk driver, and you match the description of the driver and we've scanned the harddrive of your PC and checked the browsing history on your phone and interviewed your girlfriend about the sick shit you're always asking her to do....ha ha ha just kidding here's a scholarship for you.

Pretty cool way to do it. Although the fact that he thought he could be in trouble makes me wonder what he's guilty of though! College - gotta love it!

Like that dude. Good attitude, and always coaching dudes from the bench. His old man is prone to bloviation, but he seems like a good teammate.

Than just wins and losses.  Or money.  From all appearances, this kid has worked hard and been a team player.  If we can't reward that, we've got bigger issues.  Thanks for the post!
