All whites tomorrow
Michigan football is saying you can take BPONE and shove it up your ass, it doesn’t exist anymore. Let’s go.

A lot of bad memories of Michigan in all-white. Would have thought Blue or Maize pants would have been the choice, but I guess we are going to ice out our bad memories
November 25th, 2022 at 12:37 PM ^
If you look at the last twenty years, there are almost surely more bad white & maize moments than there are white & white moments.
November 25th, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
As a percentage of games played in each color? I'd like to see the evidence.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:47 PM ^
I’d want to hit them with as much maize and blue as possible.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^
Maize pants should always be the standard, home and away. I despise the uniformz nonsense. This isn’t West Virginia fergodsakes.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
I think Harbaugh’s approach to uniforms is perfect. They mix it up while never straying too far from what makes our uniforms the best.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
The key is that the design of the uniforms is consistent. We're not busting out bumblebee stripes one week and big block Ms the next.
November 25th, 2022 at 2:05 PM ^
I thought we went away from maize pants against OSU so as to invalidate their stupid gold (maize) pants charm they give the OSU players on a team that beat Michigan, for their charm bracelets. Of course I'd rather render that irrelevant by .... beating them.
November 25th, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
Not very "communist" of you.
More "traditionalist"...
November 25th, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
Me, too. They've gone and sealed their fate. Should have gone with blue or maize. :-(
November 25th, 2022 at 10:47 PM ^
Agree.
The all-whites are just not a strong look or vibe for Michigan. I can't agree with this decision.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:11 PM ^
Wish M and OSU would do what USC and UCLA do and wear home jerseys. I think it’s a penalty for the away team and the home team declines it.
Not a fan of all white.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:14 PM ^
I like the all white look in many respects and we disagree on a lot, but you are 100% correct here: Michigan and Ohio State should both wear their standard home uniforms.
There's no longer a penalty, either--they changed the rule after USC and UCLA did time-out-trade the first time. (edit: link)If the home team agrees and the jerseys have sufficient contrast, they are legally allowed to do so.
And absolutely should.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:28 PM ^
as i understand it, the only reason teams ever had 'whites' was because when TV started to televise games they were of course in black and white, thus, you had no idea which team was which if they both wore their 'colors'. now, not so much.
michigan v. ohio should always be with both teams in their colors.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:34 PM ^
You just drew the ire of my color blind friend… 😝
November 25th, 2022 at 12:51 PM ^
Disagree. Both teams wearing home jerseys makes sense for USC / UCLA because both schools are in L.A. Both are the home team in a real sense. To me, wearing home uniforms at Ohio Stadium makes no sense at all. It would feel like a stolen tradition that makes no sense outside of the original context.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
But both teams are not the home team - they play in different stadiums in different parts of the city. I reject your distinction, Clarence.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
They are both in their home city and the crowd for those games is evenly split. In Columbus that is ... not true.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:56 PM ^
As a SoCal resident, I suggest both teams should wear their away uniforms when playing in Pasadena.
November 25th, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
underrated comment.
November 25th, 2022 at 9:04 PM ^
I appreciate this justification. Hadn't heard it before.
That said, Utah and BYU do it as well and they're not in the same city.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
Did not know that s-king thanks for the knowledge here on uniforms!
I don't care either way once the game starts, but personally I think the all white and white/maize looks too much like LSU for my taste.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
I thought it was a lost timeout, but I don’t know the rulebook well enough to be certain. Clearly USC and UCLA have found a loophole around it, but I think it requires both teams to agree to play in their color jerseys
edit: should have just waited a moment to post, stephenrjking had the answer
November 25th, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
That would be awesome.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
Bring back 1955
November 25th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
bingo. what a great picture.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:44 PM ^
Maybe I’m in the minority here but I think OSU’s away jersey looks better than their home
November 25th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
Agree. White and gray is a solid combo. Scarlet and gray is pretty blah.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
No, not in the same town like USC/UCLA.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:36 PM ^
Color versus color would be a true authentic throwback for the Michigan - Ohio State game. That is the way they did it for decades.
The newspaper accounts of the 1927 Michigan Stadium game reference the scarlet jerseys of Ohio State. And you can see that both teams were color versus color in the famous 1950 Snow Bowl in Columbus.
They did not switch to home color versus away white until the mid-fifties when black and white TV required the change for visibility.
We have color TV now. Go back to authentic color versus color. Michigan and Ohio State jerseys have the perfect color contrast for it.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:14 PM ^
Do the whites have snowflake patterns?
November 25th, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
No, but many posters to this thread do!

I really like the white pants look...
But I was not expecting it to come back for this game. It's good, but the blue pants haven't made it down there yet and this would be a good game for them.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:17 PM ^
I forgot about the white jersey blue pants combo. Definitely could have gone with that.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
We agree on so much, my friend. It's funny -- people here talk as if the maize pants are somehow the gold standard, but they're not. Michigan wore white often in the 70s -- including in the 1976 Orange Bowl (dig that maize and blue stripe, though).
November 25th, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
I was there. We lost. Never wear white pants.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:41 PM ^
I'm not a big fan of the white jersey/blue pants look. I don't hate it, but it doesn't seem as much of a Michigan uniform as the other combinations. It reminds me a lot of Washington.
November 25th, 2022 at 2:17 PM ^
Welp, Washington wears purple.
Any other colors you have trouble distinguishing?
November 25th, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
Personally love the all whites. Go Blue
Beat Ohio
November 25th, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
Don't like it. I think the white shirt contrasted against the blue pants make it easier for our QBs to see the upper torso target...
November 25th, 2022 at 12:16 PM ^
I know I’m in the minority here but I personally love the all whites.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
It’s such a clean look. Look good play good as the kids say.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:22 PM ^
It is going to become fan favorite after we beat them and snap the losing streak. And they look really good. Our helmets pop.
November 25th, 2022 at 12:31 PM ^
I'm with you -- they look sharp. Personally, I think we're in a golden era of Michigan football uniforms. We have kept the classic look, no one is touching the helmets or adding weird extraneous garbage to the uniforms, and the use of different color combinations keeps things interesting.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
I don't know man, who can say no to these Dave Brandon specials?
The man was so obsessed with putting the Block M on everything. And yellow numbers that you can't read in the sun . . . genius!
November 25th, 2022 at 12:52 PM ^
Same. The stripes on the sleeves/pants add just enough color to complement the helmet.
November 25th, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
I like it a lot. I mainly want it to make an appearance or two every year.
To be honest, after three really disappointing outings in them (three--two under Harbaugh and that travesty in 1974) I didn't expect to see them again here.
November 25th, 2022 at 3:06 PM ^
I know I’m in the minority here but I personally love the all whites.
I think Clarence Thomas quotes veer into "no politics" territory.
