alot of gangsters. i remember doing raids almost within ear shot of the music the parks sometimes played. and our office, a well-kept secret, wasn't more than a couple of miles away either.

Attempting to make some old-fashioneds tonight. Gonna use rye (I usually prefer bourbon but my boss convinced me to try it with rye), and just picked up some bitters. Spun some sugar in the old food processor as well so it dissolves easier. Plan from here: mix, drink, repeat.

While I prefer Bourbon itself, I generally find Rye (and most Canadian Whiskys) work better in mixed drinks.

Had a couple of martinis while my ragu alla Bolognese was simmering, then enjoyed it with a glass of Chianti. About to have some smoked provolone with the rest of my Chianti and then maybe a little Austrian chocolate.
