I disagree. I think it explains other guys leaving and I am confident Harbaugh will find a better DC that won't give up 55 pts to our rival.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
Great. This thread should be lots of fun.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:16 AM ^
OK, NOW I'm confused.
/ turns out he has family ties to OSU, though, so there's that
January 8th, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
"Family Ties"... "OSU"... you do that on purpose?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:20 AM ^
Huh? No, I'm playin' it straight. TFA says Washington's dad went to OSU and played for Hayes. Did I just step on an Internet mine or something?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:23 AM ^
No, I'm just "old" and watched too much TV growing up in the 80's.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:32 AM ^
Sha-la-la-la.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:32 AM ^
Thank you! I'm not alone on this!
January 8th, 2019 at 11:23 AM ^
For what it's worth, I didn't get it either.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
Eeeewwwww.
There are going to be some REALLY angry posts on this Board today. Could be an all-timer.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
There is always someone else to get. If that’s where he wants to be, good for him. I hope we bring in Jerry Montgomery and / or Roy Manning.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:24 AM ^
January 8th, 2019 at 11:27 AM ^
Agree 100%
January 8th, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
BPONE'd
January 8th, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
The real question now is who does Harbaugh find to replace these guys. A silver lining here is he has an opportunity to make his own splash.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:47 AM ^
Exactly. I'm just hoping he goes the Moore/Washington route he's taken recently instead of falling back on his old NFL buddies. I want younger, hungry, innovative coaches that are hoping to become head coaches one day.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:17 AM ^
Another embarrassment. Shut it the fuck down if Brown leaves.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:19 AM ^
How is this an embarrassment? 62 points is an embarrassment man.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:21 AM ^
Shut what down? Lol
January 8th, 2019 at 11:38 AM ^
WD's account.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:41 AM ^
Which one?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:49 AM ^
Nice try, WD
January 8th, 2019 at 11:24 AM ^
Your journey from total fan boy to total clown job in just a few short years is something to behold
January 8th, 2019 at 11:30 AM ^
Sorry I’m disappointed that we just lost 2 assistant coaches to the team that scored 62 points on our great defense and have beaten once in the last 15 years.
I think there’s a few others who feel the same.
This is not what any of us expected two months ago. People have a right to be mad/upset/disappointed.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:33 AM ^
At this point, anyone who isn't expecting a total shit show is overly optimistic.
Are you still wearing all your Michigan gear? If not, you should burn it on Mattison's lawn tonight.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:38 AM ^
Absolutely am and I’ve been to the last 20 home games in a row. Doesn’t mean I can’t be disappointed that we still have many problems and aren’t where we want this program to be.
I was 16 the last time Michigan beat osu and was 8 the time before that.
Most people in this thread have memories of us beating them regularly. I do not and I want to have them. I would cut off one of my fucking fingers right now if it guaranteed the return to that. I’m dead serious about that too.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:48 AM ^
A finger isn't much of a sacrifice. Therein lies the problem for the program. Our fans are only willing to give up a single finger while their fans are willing to marry their hideous sister and live in misery for the rest of their lives, all for football glory.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:06 PM ^
WD, you have certainly proven your fanhood for Michigan, but please go back and re-read what you just wrote.
You are basically saying Michigan football should be better to satisfy your own desire for happiness and so you can have the same memories other people have.
The echos of The Team, The Team, The Team must be fading with you.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:12 PM ^
What the hell does WD's fandom of Michigan football and something Bo Schembechler said like 35 years ago have to do with one another?
January 8th, 2019 at 12:22 PM ^
I would be interested to see the exchange when you walk up to Jim Harbaugh and inform him that he should make Michigan win more so you can be happy about it and that it isn't fair that your Mom & Dad got to be happy, but you don't because Michigan isn't winning enough now...for you.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:25 PM ^
If his recent press conferences are any indication I would just expect him to kind of stare blankly and say "always has been, is, and always will be."
January 8th, 2019 at 12:14 PM ^
You missed the whole point of me saying that.
I only brought that up to illustrate how bad things are. There are teenagers that have been alive for one Michigan win and we’re gonna be recruiting them soon.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:27 PM ^
OHHHH, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!
This thread had little to do with recruiting and neither have your comments up to this point. It was a very self-entitled comment and I pointed the ridiculous nature of it out in a fairly polite way with a little snark.
January 8th, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
All good WD. Its been going on for too damn long. If some can't understand u wanting a little better reward for your mega fandom...f em.
January 8th, 2019 at 9:03 PM ^
That sounds serious
January 8th, 2019 at 3:42 PM ^
No sarcasm. I expect Michigan to win B1G next yer and beat OSU. I expect Day will come under a lot of heat for his underwhelming hires. Hire Harbaugh or Brown at OSU then you got me. Get Partridge, maybe you have a real crack. Taking Mattison was a favor. Took money from other better candidates they could have hired Washington was a small loss.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:35 AM ^
I just don't think a lot of this is coming as a surprise to a whole lot of people at this point. Everything from the OSU game onward pealed back the onion quite a bit and showed some rot. I think people are upset but have known for some time that a few shoes were going to drop. The end of the season was a complete debacle and was going to have fallout.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:40 AM ^
Think about this for a minute - our rival, who has owned for going on a decade and a half, is poaching assistant coaches from us. Sure, they can spin it to recruits of Michigan's impending doom and everyone is jumping ship. But short of this, what's the concern? Our defense has been waxed against teams that can that pass block and throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field the last two years. I fail to see why this makes sense for OSU. This hire I understand more than the Mattison one though.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:44 AM ^
The Mattison hire made no sense. This guy is a crack recruiter in Ohio. Getting him to OSU deprives Michigan of those connections and helps a nobody coach like Day lock down his state.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:55 AM ^
Ohio has been locked down since basically 2005. One assistant coach isn't going to change it. The only thing that will is Michigan and Penn State blowing the doors off of OSU once in a while, and that sure hasn't happened.
There have to be coaches out there with ties to Ohio that can recruit and may help contribute to OSU scoring less than 62 points when they play Michigan. Frankly, I am not sad about the majority of coaches leaving this off-season.
January 8th, 2019 at 4:47 PM ^
Who did he get out of Ohio that OSU really wanted?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:58 AM ^
Never said you can’t be mad or disappointed. I’m sure everybody is - myself included. You’re being reactionary though, and yours posts aren’t sarcastic or tongue in cheek. Just find it interesting that someone who wanted to be taken seriously is reacting in such a way.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:30 AM ^
He's just trying to Make America Great Again.
That's all you really need to know about WD these days. He's gone round the bend.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:30 AM ^
You are an embarrassment.
No, seriously.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:56 AM ^
No... SERIOUSLY
January 8th, 2019 at 11:18 AM ^
OK. When is Brown to Temple getting announced?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:19 AM ^
Hell, let's bring back the "Oakland is in play" crap. I'll believe anything at this point.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:35 AM ^
Oakland is out of play, but those Jets...
January 8th, 2019 at 11:26 AM ^
Well this is definitely a cause for concern. Harbaugh losing two defensive coaches to his arch rival, and his DC possibly taking a HC position. Combine that with players essentially quitting on him, the mild argument with D. Bush about his bowl status, Aubrey transferring out of nowhere, the blow out losses, Higdon’s dad being upset with Harbaugh’s usage of his son...geez.
Thank goodness for an early signing period.
Harbaugh does have a great opportunity in front of him to go hire the best DL/LB coaches he can, while also getting rid of Pep and bringing in a guy who can put together an offensive game plan that isn’t from 1975.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:28 AM ^
Give me a refresher on the Bush bowl argument thing. I didn't see that.
